1 hour+ power backup solution for my gaming rig.

Is this the only load that you want to run on backup power? you might have to increase your budget a bit to around 20K. Assuming a load of around 600W, you will need a Pure sine wave inverter of 800/1000VA with a 12V 120/150/180Ah (higher the AH more the backup) battery. This has been taken from the Exide site, where there is a Inverter/UPS selector and battery selector which gives the result based on the load you want to run. This has to be taken with a grain of salt but gives you a fair idea. Your local dealers will give you a better deal and different ranges/brands of inverters and batteries. Bargain and ask for a discount from your local dealers. If you have an older battery to exchange they will take it and reduce the price of the newer battery. You might have to hunt about a bit for getting a good deal.

I've been using Exide batteries with a Su-kam UPS for the past 10-12 yrs without running into issues.

Are you okay with setting up an inverter just for that? If yes and you can extend your budget a little then get a 1500va 12v sine wave inverter ups and a 120ah battery.

You could also get a apc 1500 Pro model along with a battery pack for around 22k but at best you'll get 30 mins if PC is used under load. Will you be gaming when power is out or just browsing?

Need compact solution with inbuilt battery.

Big battery + good inverter w/ UPS function (>=700W output or ~1100VA input) will cost more than 15k new

For one hour you need 1100/12 = 91Ah of battery power.
You shouldn't discharge lead acid batteries below 50%, so double it to increase life = 180Ah

So you're looking for a 1100VA UPS + 180Ah battery minimum.

Assumption is that you will actually be gaming the entire time. If not, you'll get longer backup lol
