1 ton AC recommendations?

Hey,

Need to buy a good VFM 1 ton AC really quick. I was avoiding it all these days because of excessive power usage and I'm kinda getting paranoid about the pollution/cfc/blah/blha.. but its getting hot.

Don't want a split, have to replace an old crapped out assembled AC, so got the space et all. Usage would probably be 3/5 years.

The sticky seems like it has old info. Does the Welcome to VoltasAC still stand for best VFM?
 
Well, I have been using a Voltas split for less than a year now.. looks ok to me.. of course, does sound a little low on the cooling at times, but pretty ok otherwise.. the biggest plus being energy savings.. (ouch.. a/c and energy savings in the same breath.. :D) which is why I'd still say.. change your mind and go for a split.. :)
