What are the 12V current ratings of a zebronics 500w platinum power supply? I've seen many people in this forum using these PSUs. Could they please tell me the current ratings (as they aren't evident from the website)?
I need 14-16A each on 12V1 and 12V2...is this PSU sufficient?
Also, please let me know how good is this PSU? Is this locally made? (i hope not!)

its 17A... only one 12v rail... not really good vfm considering it retails for nearly 2k. all u get is 12cm blue led fan and green led..

well i dont know much but check my OC. works nice on this PSU.
but i am not happy. it is very bad PSU. it can handle my GFX only after i remove 2 LED Fans and my front LED panel of my geforce cabinet.
dont know much about rating.. but not happy at all..... waiting for somebody to sell good psu...
dont buy it. i purchased when i had no plan to buy such GFX. i had 6600GT and i planned to get maxxxx 7600GS so i thought it will be enough for me.
but with my x1800xt this PSU is crying i think.
anyway think 10 times before buying this one....

thanks a lot guys....i suspected the lower current ratings...
i think a coolermaster psu makes more sense now....given that i've a 7900 GTO card with me and i plan to overclock my e6300 to 3G. I was looking for a coolermaster extreme power 430W - 500W psu for my system....but only psu avl at SMC is 600W (and also a 380W which is too less for me)...won't 600W psu be an overkill (18A each on dual 12vrails)...i mean that PSU can easily handle SLI (and with my low load, i don't think i'll get a good efficiency)...

So bottomline... I desperately need coolermaster 430W-500W PSU....If any one of you guys know dealers stocking these, kindly let me know. My budget is 2.5K max (which is why i'm not going for any exotic psus)....coolermaster seem fine to me (but only if i can find them)

go for a the coolermaster exterme power 500W at least... and if u got no choice then go for the powersafe 500w

Will the powersafe 500w handle a x1950 pro ??? The minimum requirements say it requires at least a 30A rating

And what about a Powersafe 400w or a 450w ???? Which should be the minimum one ???? And their market cost in mumbai ????

^^The powersafe 500W will handle it, even the 450 probably but id rather go with the 500. Cost of the 450 and 500 is arnd 1.9k n 2.5k respectively

I use this PSU and would like to knw if I can add another 8600GT or not?Chk my system config on my signature plz...

Nope mate, wont work with the Zebby

Hey ur sure?My system is stock (not OCed)...and 8600GTs dont consume as much power as the 8800s wud and still the Zeb 500 wont support 2 8600Gts in SLI...gawd I'm doomed..

Well the Zeb 500 provides 17A on +12V right, that should be just enough to run 1 8600GT and 1 CPU IMO...

The 8600GT consumes about 70W of power if I aint mistaken...

And as you prolly might kno, wattage isnt everything in a PSU, more imp is the +12V rating....atleast equally imp

EDIT : I have been doing some thinking and I think this may MAY work

Considering that its +12V rating is same as CM 380W PSU, lets assume that the PSU's actual wattage is say 350 at 50deg continuous

So

CPU Not OC'd : 65W

GPU *2 : 150W

Mobo + Fans : 75W approx

HDD : 15W

DVDRW : 15W

thats a total of 320W at load...

Again, thats just a *MAY* work, no guarantees on it....

^^ Lol? Was that sarcasm?

Well, sabretoothe, it may "Work", but it could provide you Low 12V and 3.3V Power.

As in, your 12V Rail may drop to as low as 11V under load, which is well out of the safe limit. I suggest you get yourself Powersafe 500W. Its a min. basic requirement.

I have no clue, why people spend 70k on a Rig, then skimp on the PSU.
