Hey,

I am looking to buy a 16gb pendrive. I wish for it to be brand new, with box, billand warranty.

I dont favour 1 brand in particular but have heard that Transcend is not as fast as Kingston or Corsair..

Anyway, I saw a deal on eBay, i can get it for 1525/- with my discount coupon. Is it worth it?

And this one, I will get for around 1140/-

Is there any reason for me to fret about just 1 yr warranty?

Please help me out people!! And if you know any other deals, then please tell!
 
if its a branded pendrive that to genuine 1yr warranty is more than enough ...also most company give longer warranty. plz check with company and the documentation.
 
my frnd has bought 16 GB from ebay and ended in trouble
he was not able to copy more than 4 GB data (not as single file, so its not FAT NTFS issue) once it crosses 4 GB copy fails with lots on chunk files , and disk scan was needed.

funny part is ....
Kingston site was unable to recognize the serial num, it said drive fake
there was no invoice with shipment,,
and his is still fighting with dealer..

Stay clear from Kingston, too many fakes circulating these days.
 
I recently got one Sandisk U3 16gb - the speeds are good

I got it for 1800/- shipped with invoice.. let me know if u r interested
 
If you have the patience to wait, then order the Patriot Xporter XT 16GB. I ordered 2 of these through KMD, and boy! It's the best pen drive i've had :)

Write speed gives me a constant 30Mbps and read speed around 50Mbps. Windows will detect it as 14.9gb (by default) the rest is reserved for system files.

My suggestion to you is to go ahead and get this beast.
 
Would recommend the Verbatim 16GB p.d as well. Faster than the Corsair F.V (not the GT!).
 
Hey people, that 1200 Cruzer deal fell through. The dealer went out of stock n is giving me full refund. ;)

So now, I am searching for alternatives.. I found a REAL Kingston 16gb DataTraveller (with bill, warranty) for 1420 bucks.

Is it good? It doesn't support ReadyBoost tho.

Are there any ongoing deals at TE from dealers?

Wouldn't recommend the Kingston P.Ds since there's been a lot of fakes in the market esp. the 32gigs.

mediahome.in was selling the Verbatim 16GB for 1.5k during March! It must've come down certainly by now. But he seems to be not well and thus the deals from his side's been absent for a while.

Like I said before the Verb 16GB was much faster than the Corsair F.V having seen the write/read speeds in person. :cool2:
 
I'd recommend a 16 GB Flash Voyager. The drive has good read/write speeds; as an added bonus its nigh indestructible. Its hilarious to be able to chuck it around and watch it bounce back(I dont recommend it or anything..but it is fun).
 
Does the Transcend JetFlash v30 series support Readyboost? I was thinking of their 16gb version...

And in the Flash Voyager, what is the diff. between the GT and nonGT versions?
