^^ So you're justifying the move ?

No, but definitely commenting on folks who have an issue with everything Nokia does. OK, so they don't like Nokia. Not an issue. There really is no brand on earth which has no haters. That doesn't mean making baseless rants.

Haven't Nokia become rather leaky in the past few months??

There's a leaked nokia everywhere!! :O

are these intentional leaks to increase the anticipation of the customers??

Haha. Nokia makes an S60 run on 600 Mhz, people have problem. They make the newer S^3 run on similar specs - people still complain that it is 'under'powered. And now when they come up with 1Ghz for S40, guess what, these chaps continue to have problems. "Why so much"? One needs no reason to complain.

No, that the truth is what is the necessity for 1ghz proccy in s40 and how it utilize it.

Imagine a 2.8inch 1Ghz Nokia phone with 512mb ram utilizing the S40 OS, and take full HD video and definitely u can play Snake and carom game. And still u say, "Yahoooo".

Why im saying this because the OS that runs in the hardware matters.

For example, a 833Mhz proccy with 256mb ram iphone 3gs runs great great with great visual and have millions of app.

So marrying a 1Ghz proccy with S40 results with divorce...

That is because S^3 need more efficient processor (with a bit more RAM) and S40 doesn't need a 1GHz processor. For Gods sake S40 runs without any lag on a 3k phone with a 200MHz processor. This clueless and directionless thinking is what brought them to this state. I have seen S6^3 lag a bit on N8 due to inadequate RAM and slower processor. Am not saying that they need a dual core monstrous chip but it would be better if the speed up the processor and put more RAM onboard.

And if they are thinking to bring out midrange S40 devices, then God save them. S40 is far worse than S60 when it comes to anything more than simple call-text-browse. I have tried X3-02 and the UI is a bit letdown for the otherwise impressive phone with good h/w.

Don't you think Nokia is giving people a hundred reasons to complain ?

Okay wait, who complained that the current batch of Nokias are underpowered? Symbian is extremely well know for running on less RAM and not requiring fast processors.

Then the 1Ghz proccy will help only to drain battery.
Not really. All mobile chips scale their processor speed according the cpu usage, like Intel SpeedStep. This phone -ofcourse- will never have to go to 1Ghz or stay on it for very long.

Nokia N8 and E7 should be updated with this 1Ghz+512MB ram instead of these S40 handsets, however efficient S^3 maybe but N8 and E7 still lag when compared to ios and WP7 handsets.

No one said a word when Android phones were introduced with Dual Core proccys when Android wasn't really made to utilize fully. But with Nokia, everyone comes trashing. Its becoming trend to hate and bash Nokia simply for no proper reason.

You give a 600MHz proccy, people complain, You give 1GHz proccy, people again complain. WTF ?

^^People won't complain if that 1Ghz proccy is put in a N8 or E7. Problem is not with 1 Ghz or 100 Ghz but with its implementation and its target product range (as of now S40 phones).

I am guessing some developers might be thinking of porting these S40 phones to android as soon as they are out.
Guessing by what the samsung wave had gone through that might be possible. Though not sure for the .5 phones. :S
