Ok, I will try that. Also pls let me know any solution, in case the bass is not coming in headphone as well. I think it is, but now I am not that sure. Anyways, could it be due to the realtek driver ?? I couldnt find any setting for a woofer in that. the settings were mostly, 2 ch, 4, 5, 6 ch, dolby digital and headphone. And for dolby digital it was asking for SPDIF jack. Also I am using winamp to play the files, is that ok ??

Hi, I tried again with my headphone and the sound seems to be ok. But the woofer is still not working.. pls help !!!!!

Hi, I tried that test and when I change the balance to extreme right the sound stops coming from either speakers and when I change it to extreme left, the sound comes as before as in no difference. I changed the balance in Winamp. What does this result signify ??

I think there is some problem with the connection at the laptop's headphone socket. There might be some excess rubber at the base of the speaker plug, which might be preventing the plug from being fully inserted. use a blade to cut away a bit of the rubber at the bottom of the metallic plug ( don't overdo it)

If you are not sure , post a close up pic of the base of the plug
