2.1 speaker

Hi

Looking for a 2.1 setup ..Not an audiophile.got a pl11 and pretty happy with it...The cheapest option is logitech z103 @800 from letsbuy with 17watt RMS..The next seems to be logitech z313 @1.5K-25w RMS

My budget is 2K but I want to buy a VFM speaker. since z313 is priced nearly double of z103 with 1.5x power, just wondering whether it will a good choice or I should go with z103

Suggest any other good VFM options < 2-2.2K

If you can increase it to 2.4k, lookout for Philips SPA5300 or Sony SBS-D5. Have both & Philips is much better.

^^thanks for the reply .... philips one is 4.3K on letsbuy :O ..... i don't want anything too big in size ..... how do these compare to normal logitech 2.1 speakers like z313 in size ?

Hehe. Hunt for local prices. I was offered the Philips one for 2.5k and the Sony one for 2.6k in Nehru Place. Already had the Philips one at home so went with Sony. Having listened to both, can confidently say the Philips one sounds better.

And they aren't too big. Just like normal 2.1 speakers !

Plus the Philips one has all the connections on the backside of the bass unit (which is normally kept in the middle) as opposed to the Sony one which has them on the right speaker.

How are Sony SRS-D5 / Sony SRS-D4 by the way, better than Altec Lansing VS2721 ?
