max should be around 15-20k. depends on model/functionality.
Sorry, there aren't any used ones in the market the best you can get are 8 x 10G QSFP+ other ports are 1Gig. for around 20000/-need more than 5 ports, looking for 8port one...
The product link does say to attach a NAS assuming it has a 10 gig port. Can anyone explain the usecase for a single 10gig port on a switch like the above?
It ain't gonna work as 10 gig when it's being bottlenecked by other low throughput ports where the data is coming from/going to. Unless I'm wrong and missing something. The product link does say to attach a NAS assuming it has a 10 gig port.
You have a high end mobo or nas with 10gb ethernet so you connect it to such switch then connect your secondary devices on 1G/2.5G to same switch & you can copy from the 10gbps pc/nas to multiple other devices at their respective full speeds so pc A & pc B & laptop C all three can copy at 2.5gbps same time from main pc/nas with 10gbps port. Can anyone explain the usecase for a single 10gig port on a switch like the above?
I mean what can a single port achieve when all rest are gonna cap it anyways
Imagine 4 x 2.5 gig client devices accessing data from the NAS at the same time.It ain't gonna work as 10 gig when it's being bottlenecked by other low throughput ports where the data is coming from/going to.
