Where is Avira? Av-test.org and Av-comparatives.org (the two most respected av shootcout sites in the industry) rate avira as no. 1 in terms of detection rate.
 
i am using Bit Defender internet security and its great.. not heavy on the system at all. it gets most of the viruses too :D

amen to that...i just installed the BitDefender Total Security 2008 ....and man:ohyeah: i m mighty impressed...its not too heavy on the system...and yet it has a very good anti virus engine...regular updates...superb firewall monitoring...man...i can go on... but one thing i liked abt it was that its very light on the system...so far i m very happy with bitdefender... and googling from many sites has also given me one more info that bitdefender always comes in the top 3 best anti virus solutions...here are two of the links..and if u observe any of them...u will c that BitDefender comes in top 3..:ohyeah:

the only downside i have heard so far are 2 of them...one is the interface is dull (too grey :no: )...the other is a bit more serious...the vsserv.exe service sometimes gives an error.. and i mean only sometimes...this happened with me only once...

but wotever may be the case i like it much better than using pira*** NOD 32s and Kasperskys....and so far the BitDefender truly lives up to its name:hap2:
 
Well some uber geek friend of mine told me Bit-defender is premium shit. It tops out all AVs since 2006 i guess.... i know
 
Avast which is legally FREE works fine for me. The myth says BiDefender has bloatware lol....

Avira is excelent in detecting virus and scanning is superfast but what is the use of it as Avira is not good in cleaning the virus infected files. IMHO the most effective free antivirus is Avast and paid version is Kaspersky.

The cleaning part not so good for antivir is news to me :) I been using antivir for a while and it hasnt let me down yet.
 
same here.. Avira's really gr8 n haven experienced any problem with it till date,, was using Avast.. really slow on scanning n kinda annoying
