Hi,

Finally bought 2233SW. Awesome LCD.

The only problem to me is that when I use my external tv tuner card, it says "Not optimal mode, Recommended mode 1920 x 1080, 60 Hz. And then after, it keeps on displaying this message & I can't view TV because of only this message.

First for sometime, I can view TV, this message appears on center, and then after sometime, in the whole screen comes this message (All blackout & this message).

Now what the hell should I do to view tv through external tv tuner card. My external tv tuner card is of Intex.

There's no problem in PC. All's running fine in PC.

Thanx.

As far as i am aware, this thing happens in only ATI cards. For NVIDIA cards, its fine.

I have used this monitor with my 9600GT and all worked fine and after moving to ATI HD4850, even with 3D Mark06, when the benchmark starts at 1280x1024, the monitor would display the message and then go off after some 5 minutes. The benchmarks would however still be running.

I think its a problem with ATI Drivers. This problem is also with me.

^^ Err....what? I am saying that I m having problem with using external tv tuner card. In external tv tuner card, CPU remains off. It doesn't requires CPU.

My VGA cable from this LCD goes to tv tuner card first & than another wire from tv tuner goes to CPU. So this is how external tv tuner cards work.

So, I hope u now understood my problem.

i think the tuner card u r using might not support high resolution so get a
high resolution external tuner card.........

Probably the tv tuner card u are using does not support HD resolution of 1920x, hence the monitor detects that the display is not at native resolution and then shuts itself down. :cool2:

I have the same LCD hooked on to same intex card (SSD 723 LCD TV tuner)& it works fine. Excellent quality of Tatasky.

I bought the one & had exactly the same problem so I called Intex & they asked me to get it replaced, which the dealer did so, the new one has been working fine without any problem.

Hope you didn't get the same faulty piece which I returned.

hehe lol ranjan2001 , I m using the same tv tuner card for 3 years.

@Abhi, I too think, it is not supporting that high resolution, therefore I m getting this error. And just for this tv tuner card, I m not able to use DVI. My motherboard has DVI out, so I can use it but just because of this tv tuner card, I m not using it.

Hey, r there tv tuner's available for LCD minitors specially? Do they support DVI port? Currently my tv tuner does not have DVI in.

^^ So, u rusing this tv tuner card Ranjan? But it supports, maximum 1680x1050 @60Hz, and I want 1920 x 1080. So will it do?

Yes I am using this tuner & the monitor, though it supports only upto 1680x1050 but the image looks fine on monitor native resolution 1920 x 1080.

I haven't seen any other LCD tuner of higher resolution than 1680, if u find one then let me know too.

OK, I just bought Umax Tvision LCD TV Box (Model no:UMX Tvision LCD 5811). The problem is solved. It is running in 1440 x 900 resolution and supports maximum 1680 x 1050 resolution. I prefer 1440 x 900 resolution. Thank u all.

@Ranjan, u r right, there's no tv tuner card in market which supports 1920 x 1080. But, I don't mind running it in 1440 x 900 also, as I have internal tv tuner card also. Actually my Dad uses external & I use internal tv tuner, because he doesn't want to start Windows & all. And I prefer recording & all, therefore I m using internal one.

Well, I bought it for 1700 bucks. Good video quality. Features seem same of this one and mine, except Pixelview has FM (On clicking on specifications). And looks are also good compared to mine. U can go for this.

yeah ...only HD rips suffice ... guys can u suggest me a good website where i can dld nice HD prints .. of VRY NICE thing ... [;)]
