Is this a good configuration for a 24/7 download rig:
Proccy: Intel D945GCLF-ATOM 3900
Ram: 1 x 2gb 667 Mhz 1150
PSU: Zebronics (or) Iball (Please recommend any one) 400w
HDD: SGT 250 GB 2250
Otherthings I already had and I want to it seems to a powerful rig for downloading and browsing with power saving!!

Please help me

You would want a better PSU for a download rig, as at 10-25% loads those PSU suck at efficiency, you can save around 250-300 Rs a month buying a higher efficiency PSU.

Thanks for your replies.......

Please suggest me a VFM Higher efficiency PSU (FSB PSU is ok price 1500/- or CM 450) or if it is nice to have a Pico PSU kind of thing

if so please let me know the price for the PICO psu!

I am in hurry!!!!

you dont need the 2 gigs of ram.. even though its cheap.. you'd rather save the 300-400 bucks.. infact 512 should be sufficient for this :p

instead of atom , get amd sempron LE + geforce 6100 board combo should cost 3.5k around , it will consume only little more power , but good for normal surfing , office work etc too . atom will have no upgradibility .

I'd second that.

go for 160 watt PSU because 400 watt PSU consume more electricity.

This is pretty wrong, PSU wattage doesn't work like this

the amount of power drawn from the mains ( ~ current bill) will depend on the efficiency at required load

eg:

If a download rig needs 150W of power

and if 160W has efficiency of 60% at 95% load

and 400W has 80% efficiency at less than 50% load, then the 400 watts will draw less power from the mains to power the same load than the 160W
