It costs 2700 bucks here in bangalore... model no ST3250310AS. Its not mine, belongs to shantanu (hunt3r). I was shocked to see the transfer speeds... look at the speed at the end of the medium its 60MB/s :P.

@chaos... which shop? 2700 rs with $% tax ?

^^ Ho then he will tell different prices to diff ppl , 2 days back he quoted 2.9 for 250 seagate.
Do you know him well Rio ? , I guess his name is dinesh ?

I don't know them by name, even I get high prices over phone... when he sees me it's different because I've built at least 5-6 PC's for friends buying stuff from him :P

I'm getting 2 tomorrow from Comp Shop on Brigade Road... I'll be there at 11.30am in case you want to meet up there and get the same price.

^ Hmm, awesome price, might pick one up too :P

Btw Rio when your there, tell Sabir I send my regards, haven't spoken to him for ages lol!

Yup thats my drive. I bought it like 3 weeks back and was suprised it was so thin(almost half as thin as my single platter 160 gig :S) but it didnt strike me that it would be single platter. We were benching my rig yesterday and suddenly came up with 85 MB/s which made all of us go wtf!!! Lol

^2800 in Pune.. spoke to Apo about it this morning.
Ordered 2 of these for 2.7k each today.
However the seek times are on the higher side so these hdds are not better as a os drive compared to a raptor

yes that is somewhat obvious. raptor have really lower seek times. but do cost way more also.

any idea if the 320gb model of this same drive is available & for how much?
