Bought it from NP a few weeks back .. 2750 ..

All the 2.5" HDDs in India are 5400RPM or lower...ve been searching 4 a down 2 earth 2.5" 7200 RPM HDD 4 my Satellite in ne size 4 ages now...not even in Dubai.

Here are some models of 2.5" HDDs which are 7200RPM... look for them ....

With Dell india one can get a optional 7200 rpm hard disk with laptop. So it is likely to be available in the market also.

I don't know them by name, even I get high prices over phone... when he sees me it's different because I've built at least 5-6 PC's for friends buying stuff from him

Yup thats my drive. I bought it like 3 weeks back and was suprised it was so thin(almost half as thin as my single platter 160 gig :S) but it didnt strike me that it would be single platter. We were benching my rig yesterday and suddenly came up with 85 MB/s which made all of us go wtf!!! Lol

However the seek times are on the higher side so these hdds are not better as a os drive compared to a raptor

yes that is somewhat obvious. raptor have really lower seek times. but do cost way more also.

any idea if the 320gb model of this same drive is available & for how much?
