Some votes remain to be counted though as quite a few of our esteemed representatives were not able to vote electronically

after all choosing between 4 chunky buttons requires a rocket scientist's degree

Meanwhile, the quote of the year award goes to one Mr Ahmed, an MP from the Samajwadi party

"I have not understood what the deal is all about. Though I listened very attentively to the debate throughout yesterday (Monday), I could not make any head or tail out of it," Ahmed was quoted as saying by the Press Trust of India.

"I will definitely vote against the government. If I, being a member of parliament, could not understand anything about the nuclear deal, then how can the people of the country follow it?" he said.

By his logic, whatever he does not get in that pea sized brain of his is necessarily bad for the nation.....

Admist all the jokers who are our democratically (?) chosen representatives, Makes me feel good that there are a few respectable voices, esp Dr. King Singh

From his speech yesterday:

Every day that I have been Prime Minister of India I have tried to remember that the first ten years of my life were spent in a village with no drinking water supply, no electricity, no hospital, no roads and nothing that we today associate with modern living. I had to walk miles to school, I had to study in the dim light of a kerosene oil lamp. This nation gave me the opportunity to ensure that such would not be the life of our children in the foreseeable future.

Sir, my conscience is clear that on every day that I have occupied this high office, I have tried to fulfill the dream of that young boy from that distant village.

The greatness of democracy is that we are all birds of passage! We are here today, gone tomorrow! But in the brief time that the people of India entrust us with this responsibility, it is our duty to be honest and sincere in the discharge of these responsibilities. As it is said in our sacred texts, we are responsible for our actions and we must act without coveting the rewards of such action. Whatever I have done in this high office I have done so with a clear conscience and the best interests of my country and our people at heart. I have no other claims to make.

Ah they made it, I'm happy Mayawati isn't going to be PM ...

w0rd....I would have hated that. Dr. Singh can do for another 5 years rather than mayavati coming to power.

Cash-for-vote: BJP MPs allege bribe by SP

Three BJP MPs produced wads of cash in the Lok Sabha, offered to them allegedly by Samajwadi Party to abstain from voting during the confidence motion.

The MPs alleged that the money, Rs 1 crore, was given to them as bribe by SP general secretary Amar Singh to bail out the UPA government.

The incident led to pandemonium in the House leading to members rushing to the well of the House and disrupted proceedings.

The live coverage of the Lok Sabha was momentarily stopped.

Here is the shameful video of the same : YouTube - BJP MP Shows 10 Million in Indian Lok Sabha, Allege bribe attempt by SP

Bribe CD in Parliament was part of TV sting

Rajdeep Sardesai, editor-in-chief of the television channel CNN-IBN, whose organisation filmed the controversial tape, showing three Members of Parliament from Madhya Pradesh accepting money from members of the ruling alliance, told rediff.com that two reporters have been working on the story for the last ten days and the channel's investigations had not been completed when Bharatiya Janata Party jumped the gun and leaked out details of the tapes to mediapersons at the BJP office in Parliament House.

^^ What theatrics

anyway, doesnt matter... as is, these guys eat tonnes of cash anyway, so if the nation loses another few odd crores for the sake of this, so be it

a few crores to keep some opportunistic thieves happy for the sake of a relatively brighter future is not a big price to pay....

we don't have oil, very little coal and don't have the wherewithal or the money to setup alternate energy source plants....

^^ yeah, but the funny thing is the opposition in our country take its name too literally

The BJP would have done exactly what the congress is doing on the nuclear deal

But since they are in "opposition", they have to oppose it anyway regardless what they are opposing has any bearing on national interest

At least the CPI/M were opposing it ideologically, which even though I may choose to disagree with is still something I will respect

thank god..am glad also..I cant imagine Mayawati Sitting With Bush Representing PM of India..Holy Shit:ohyeah:

Well not everyone voted electronically because there are not that many electronic voting points present in the parliament [parliament strength is more than it can accommodate] The more tragic thing was the new media reporting on their website the electronic voting count as the final result. It is those who are sitting in the newsroom whom i suspect have a pea size brain imho.

ROFL@the Singh is king propoganda.

Everybody knows he is just a frikkin puppet.

Pity him, I guess Robert Vadhera has more say in the congress than him .

Worst Case Scenario.... Mayawati Becoming PM... THEN

  1. More than 90% reservations
  2. Widespread corruption
  3. Even portfolio will be sold openly like MLA Tickets
  4. She will sell India for sure (I know she is capable of)
