Worst Case Scenario.... Mayawati Becoming PM... THEN

  1. More than 90% reservations
  2. Widespread corruption
  3. Even portfolio will be sold openly like MLA Tickets
  4. She will sell India for sure (I know she is capable of)

You missed the statues at every circle in all cities. Baba, Kanshi and Behenji's

ROFL@the Singh is king propoganda.

That guy is one guy I can safely say has the national interest clearly above self interest

AB vajpayee was another such person but he unfortunately is more or less retired

As for everyone else, their morality is suspect
For people like Maywati, it's a given
For a Advani, maybe?

But Manmohan Singh is one guy you can safely say is beyond that

+1 for Dr. Singh

Mayawati and Advani- Its better not to comment.

I get a hunch that BJP deliberately wanted UPA to win the trust vote. They don't want Mayawati as well
The 123 was the brainchild of Vajpayee govt and they opposed it for the sake of it...

I would like to see either BJP or Congress get majority by themselves so that they can keep put these stupid parties out..mainly the commies

and the regional parties too along with the commies (only exception might be Chandra babu naidu and that too only him and not TDP).

Coalition governments don't work for making tough decisions.

EDIT: Just saw this in deccan chronicle. A big LOL!

Maya rakes up Dalit PM bias
New Delhi, July 22: Undeterred by the outcome of the trust vote, BSP chief Mayawati alleged on Tuesday that the UPA and the NDA are “conspiring” to prevent her from becoming the country’s prime minister. Talking to reporters soon after the UPA won the trust vote, the UP chief minister said, “UPA’s victory is not due to their policies but a political conspiracy by both the NDA and the UPA to check the BSP and prevent the daughter of a Dalit from becoming the prime minister of the country.”

She blamed the UPA victory on NDA. “Both feared BSP and prevented me from becoming the prime minister,” she said. She referred to a meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and senior BJP leader L.K. Advani in which the latter had expressed concern on the dwindling support base of the two main parties as “casteist and regional” parties are getting powerful. “Both are united and can go to any extent to prevent the march of BSP.” She alleged the UPA of horse trading and said: “This will go down as a black day for Indian democracy.”

Right, but as everyone knows Manmohan cant even sneeze without Femme Italia's permission so we was reduced to the role of a non-functioning, non-thinking PM.

Had Mayawati become PM we would have seen statues of her being erected everywhere....just like in UP.....

Imagine a statue of Liberty sized Mayawati in Janpath.....

I don't understand shit about politics.
But here is what i have heard-
If BJP comes to power next year and mostly it will all say, they sell all Govt owned Cos that are in profit as soon as possible, for their own profit- coz they aren't sure how long they will be in power.
Insurance companies go, MTNL may go and God knows what else.
Like BSES was sold to Reliance Energy who in turn keep jacking up rates on some pretext or the other.
What sense does it make to sell a profitable entity to the privates. :S

oh yeah...so what would you say to how MS stood up for what he believed (the nuclear deal) even at the cost of risking a downfall of the government, that too at a time when a general election would have meant a clen wipeout for his party (thanks to issues beyond his control)

If that doesn't convince you of his inner strength, and commitment towards the country, nothing ever will

Single Alliance which was a threat to the UPA govt was NDA. They were in the opposition, but now their existence is being challenged by third front UNPA. Competition is only getting fierce for the NDA as they still try to guess whats going on... Multi party system is really complex.

In next LS poll, if SP loses more seats in UP to BSP, then it would be interesting to see what congress does. Will Left again support them since the deal is anyways done and congress being secular? Or will they continue to spearhead UNPA and project Mayawati as the PM?

Sometimes i wonder if left was taken out of the govt. after 4 years just to finish floor of NDA as an opposition.

Very sad state of our national politics. We are developing, its true, but i think we can grow at a much faster rate.

Whatever, I love my India ! ;)

^^ Yes, a two party system would be atleast better. Even by logic, in any situation there can either be a YES or otherwise a NO. What is this Not Sure part :P

But isnt it these lawmaker MPs who are required to do it? And why would they waste their precious time on such business cutting schemes?

from personal experience i have seen, most of times the situations is precisely the one in which you dont know.v forget about running the nation, even when you want to join a college or maybe change a job, is anybody always sure about what he wants ?

democracy is always going to be messey business as your require to evolve a consensus.

two party system just might drown out the voices of people whose very voice democratic nations wants to hear.

and if we can have a two party system., then why not a single party system like China ? they didnt do too badly. no choice no consensus. but yet it is growing well and provides better road, power, healthcare and education to its citizen.

the basic problem is i guess that the parliament doesn't ever really debate a issue. even in this nuclear deal issue there was much more rhetoric rather than actual facts.

the left will keep on opposing the deal just bcoz it is american.but why did congress have to hide the draft text god only know as on paper it isnt sinister.

multiparty system and coalition governments are a sign of a vibrant democracy. They have been in place in most of Western Europe and other developed nations. I guess Emperor George Bush the second is a classic examples of the shortfalls or a 2-party presidential system.
