There aren't actually different models , just different bases for USB 2.0, USB 3.0, Firewire, Ethernet.

But 5900RPM drives usually costs much less. And since large size HDDs are generally used for secondary storage and not system , one can do with 5900.

If costs are same , go for 7200 , if you're looking to save some money you can get the 5900 they aren't that bad. I have 2 .

BTW if someone can update the market price of 2 TB HDDs will highly appreciate it. Last time I check 2 TB Seagate GoFlex external were Rs. 6700 ?

Internal any idea ?

What is current warranty period of Seagate and WD Internal hard drives?

What is the market price for 3 TB drives?

^ I was thinking it was an error from Flipkart's side. So can anyone confirm what is the actual warranty period for Seagate and WD drives? Cause most other Seagate drives on FK have 2 years warranty.

All new Seagate internal drives come with 1year warranty. External drives come with 3 years warranty but crash a lot and not something to be used for backup.

All new WD internal drives come with 2 year warranty and 5 year for WD Black. WD has stopped giving Door to door delivery(shifted to AFL courier from BlueDart so now they suck) and customer care will not respond to your call at all. No reply to emails, no reply to calls and no pick up. 50percent of their RMAed replacement drives crash in the first 6 months with no fault of the user. External drives come with 3 years warranty.

Kindly shift to SSD's for data reliability. Now it makes even more sense to get an SSD as it's WAY faster and WAY more reliable.
