competition is little in HDD sector and that is eliminated by Western digital and seagate.

The reliability goes like this samsung>western digital>seagate>hitachi.

All new Seagate internal drives come with 1year warranty. External drives come with 3 years warranty but crash a lot and not something to be used for backup.

It has been updated to 2 years for all Barracuda family drives (not just 2TB drives) --> Seagate increases the warranty period of your hard drives | Tech News Pedia.

Unhelpfully Seagate has not updated the same on its site Seagate Technology Limited Consumer Warranty | Seagate and in-fact Western Digital does a better job of explaining warranty for all its drives and drive sub-families.
