I asked 1 of my frnd whethr i cn use a 3.5" SATA HDD (Internal) with my ps3.....
he mailed back""yes both 2.5" and 3.5" use the same sata connection although the power supply is a bit different. I'll describe it this way so you can understand: all SATA hdd have 2 protruded slabs, 1 for sata and one for power. Call these the male ends. An SATA cable has 2 ends with hollowed slots to connect; call these female end.

Thus ps3 (female) -> male end cable <-----> female end cable <- 3.5" hdd ""

I just want to confirm whethr tis is alright or not?
thanks

It will not work since the 3.5" drive requires more power than the 2.5" drive and by using the extended cable by the way you posted, the 3.5" drive cannot receive sufficient power. Maybe you can power the drive separately and just use the SATA data cable from the PS3 to the drive.

Besides, stop creating redundant threads for your queries.
