May be, but this is having 1 year extra warranty, current drives are 3 years and above drive carry 5 year warranty. Thats the reason I bought it.
 
Received seagate HDD today, unfortunately not working, some sounds from the HDD, system is hanging at the start, there is a small plastic peice broken at the L position of the power connector, don't know whether warranty will be void or valid. Please let me know what we can do.
 
just had a talk with srini on phone, the hdd isn't having any visible physical damage due to shipping, just the vertical part of the L connector is a bit worn off.. he will be visiting the service center tomorrow and giving it for rma. since no visible physical damage is there, rma wont be an issue.

Sorry for the inconvenience bro, this was totally out of my hands. damn DTDC guys!!
