my friend is going to buy amd 3000+ and 7800gt ..my question is that will there a cpu bottleneck ...if yes ,what is the minimum processor u need to remove the bootleneck.....

and waht is the cost of 3200+ and 3500+
thanks...

There is no 3400+. There is 3000, 3200, and 3500. If your friend can afford it, thenit will be better to go for San Diego 3700+

That is an OOOOLD CPU. Socket 754. There has been no 3400 for socket 939.
There is an extremely rare newcastle/winchester 3400+ for 939. Its the same as a 3500+ but with an 800 MHz HT link. Was sold only as OEM iirc.

Hey Heman, I think you're confusing yourself with the Socket754 platform. Make sure your friend is going for a Socket 939 platform - that has only 3000+, 3200+, 3500+.. etc models. There's NO 3400+ on a Socket 939 platform.

but the 3400 in the xbitlabs link was a 754.... That was what I meant. And thanks for the info abt the 3400 939.... didnt know abt that....

But anyway, the bottom line is that he cannot get a 3400+ Socket 939 now. and there is no use of that anyway.

I suggest a SD 3700+ which will be around 22K. and the 3000+ is around 7-8K. 3500+ is around 11-12K.

3500+ overclocked to 3800+ speeds.
Otherwise the CPU will bottleneck too much.

If your frnd is really rich, then 4000+ overclocked to match the FX-55. :D. Then you have smooth sailing all your life :p.
