CPU/Mobo 3000+ and 7800GT

No need for 4000+. You can always go in for 3000+ venice + Asus A8n-E SLI+2*512 MB Twinmos Ram+the graphics card. Overclock 3000+ to 2.2~2.4GHZ. You wont be finding any problem with this. But do make sure you buy a good PSU like those from antec with 500watts or else u will have tough time in overclocking your proccy and also the 7800GT is power hungry. So apart from proccy keep your eye on the Ram( I reccommend you twinmos), Power safe, and the cabbinet.

Nopes Saiyan, for a 7800GT a 3000+ even at 2.4G will be a definate bottleneck. The bare minimum for decent performance is a 3500+ which then OC'ed to 2.7G will be good.

If you can get a 3700+ SD, then its great, else 3500+ will do...

you are right. But i hope he gets the other parts to match up these two.

ya but the 3000 bottleneck is also around 80 -100fps in bf2 or someother high end game which is good enough for the time being. no new games seem to be on the horizon which will make u think that 3000 & 7800gt isnt enough. so i suggest u save up some cash n get the 3000 venice & maybe later next year get the x2.
