You cannot get "über-powerful" RIG in the modest budget you have mentioned but this is what I would suggest [it still overshoots your budget by quite a margin] --

Intel Core i3 2100 ~6500/-
Intel DH67-BL ~5500/-
Corsair XMS3 OR G.Skill RIPJAWS 4GB x1 ~1700/-
AMD HD 7850 2GB ~15500/- OR AMD HD 6870 ~11900/-
Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 1 TB [this has 64MB cache over older drives 32MB] ~5500/-
Seasonic S12II 520W ~3800/-
Cooler Master eLite 430 Black OR NZXT Gamma ~2800/-
Dell ST2220L ~8500/- [22" full HD monitor with LED back-light]
APC BR1.1KVA-IN ~4600/-

A few points where you can compromise on the overall RIG to get it under budget --

AMD HD 7770 GHz edition ~8500/- [instead of the HD 7850 2GB OR HD 6870]
Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 500GB ~4000/-
Corsair CX V2 430W ~2400/- OR Cooler Master GX450W ~3000/- [instead of the Seasonic SMPS]
Dell IN2030M ~6500/- [a 20", LED backlit monitor; instead of a full HD 22" monitor]

Hope this helps, Cheerio!!

How about this?
GPU : R6850 Cyclone 1GD5 Power Edition/OC
Monitor : BenQ G2222HDL
How does Intex 1Kva sound?
Any other performance for value builds? Thanx a ton

I won't be upgrading this system so I hope It can last for 3 years. I might be willing to shell upto 42k but no more than that. Thanks!

Hmmm... I get it mate, tight budget.

The graphics card you mentioned is good, it performs at par with the HD 7770 GHz Edition, but the former outruns it in the following parameters --
  • The newer Graphic Core Next architecture promises better productivity applications scaling.
  • Newer graphics card means it is starting its product life cycle, the driver updates will be more focussed on extracting this cards potential. The HD 68** series cards is almost 1[SUP]1[/SUP]/[SUB]2[/SUB] years old so it is over its prime.
  • The HD 7*** series cards are fabricated on a 28nm process, this means lesser heat dissipation and overall a more efficient graphic card.

Here is a head-to-head benchmark run between the two models -- http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/536?vs=539.

That BenQ monitor is a great entry level 22" monitor, please note however it doesn't have an HDMI-IN connector.

Please do not buy the Intex UPS, stick with the APC model. Their after sales service is impeccable in Bangalore.

Hope this helps, Cheerio!!

Thanks for the fast and indept reply.i never thought of it in that way. When u mention that the benq monitor doesn't have a hdmi input, does that mean I won't be able to play on HD with games? Thx!

By the way is it anand-tech (Indian) or a-NAND-tech(foreign)? :23:

No the BenQ monitor can play HD-content but, HDMI cable is not supported and these days it is taken for granted that a decent 22" and above monitor capable of displaying full-HD content should have the connector in its roster.

Anandtech is a site based in the US, founded by Anand Lal Shimp an American citizen of Indo-Iranian descent.

Hope this answers your queries, Cheerio!!

P.S. -- please avoid using SMS short-hand in your posts.

Q.What I meant was if the connector comes with the ST2220L?

Q.What is the connector's purpose? Do I have to connect it from my graphics card to the monitor so I can get the advantages of HD gaming?

Q.Can you suggest HD monitors with 21.5"?(will there be a big difference between a 21.5" and 22" ? I am asking this so I can save up here and there to buy a decent Gpu.)

Q. I read on techradar that HD 6850 and 7770 is a low end card for HD gaming and frankly this makes me sad. So with the launch of HD 7850 does it mean that the price of HD 6950 will reduce? If a HD 6950 is selling for lesser than a HD 7850, I would definitely go for it hands down.
(The HD 6950 1Gb looks good for the money)

Thanks!

Yes, the Dell ST2220L comes with an HDMI-IN connector.

You can go for the BenQ G2220HD ~7500/- [you mentioned this earlier] to save money. You do not require a HDMI connector to enjoy full-HD gaming and full-HD content either. The DVI-D interface will hold up just fine.

No there is not a great difference between the 21.5" and full-22" monitor [infact the latter is very rare these days], they are the least you need to buy if you want to enjoy a full-HD desktop.

If you can wait for say, a month OR two for nVidia to play its hand then you can go for the best graphics card between the HD 7850 2GB and nVidia GTX 660Ti [non-Ti].

Hope this helps, Cheerio!!

Is there a difference between Benq G2220HD and Benq G2220HDL?

The Sapphire/Msi HD6950-14.5kHIS H695FN1G2M Radeon HD 6950 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Graphic Card with Eyefinity
Benq G2220HD-8.2k still get Dell ST2220L-8.5k,Also in gpu go for AMD HD7850-15.5k which is better than HD6950 and it consumes less power-AnandTech - Bench - GPU12

Will the HD 7770 surpass HD 6850 in years to come because of the driver updates?
I am so confused right now. If I go for 6950 then i will feel guilty of not spending that extra 1k for the 7850. Isn't there a graphic in 12k range better than 6850? Frankly I don't mind the extra power the card uses or noise it will make but it should be better than a 6850. I don't mind if the card is 2 years old also. Any thoughts?

P.s Is the GTX480 extinct? I can't seem to find it at anandtech benchmarks. Thanks!

First of all HD7770 won't beat HD6850 in performance in long time,If you're ready to spend 15k then go for HD7850 OR else settle for Msi Gtx560Ti-13.5k OR AMD HD6950-14.3k.There's no point going for less than this as you're going to game at full hd reso.

Maybe yes, maybe no. There is no definitive answer to this, it all depends on how the drivers scale up with time.

Well the ~12000/- range is cluttered with a lot of older options --

AMD HD 6870 ~11900/-
nVidia GTX 560Ti ~12900/- -->13900/-
AMD HD 6950 1GB ~13500/- -->15500/-

If you can hold of the graphics card purchase till the release of the GTX 660Ti, then you might see the HD 78** series prices plummeting and this will make your choice easier.

Yes, the GTX 480 was out of production the moment the GTX 580 was available on tap in substantial numbers.

Hope this helps, Cheerio!!

So far I might be going for one of the following cards:
HD 6850,HD 6870,HD 6950,HD 7850,GTX 560 or GTX 560 ti depending on my budget. So if I buy either 1 of these cards, is the CPU,mobo, psu, cabinet which you have recommended enough? Will any bottleneck occur? Thanks!

Go with the config @ALPHA17 has quoted with Sapphire/Msi HD7850 and go with Seasonic S12ii 520W nothing less.Nothing will bottleneck so no worries,Cheers!:)
