Laptops 3D movies on laptop

I just came across this laptop from acer on which you can see 3D movies which are released on DVD or Bluray. Does this really work. If yes then I might think about buying it.

Just fyi The Asus G51J 3D Laptop Is '3D Done Right' - asus g51j - Gizmodo is wayy better.

Also, I would rather wait a while before 3D became a lot more mainstream

How well does this 3D on-the-fly conversion for movies work? Do you mean to tell me that George Lucas is wasting his time converting Star Wars to 3D -- all we have to do is fire up those movies on the Acer and we're good to go?

i checked this laptop at croma in ahmedabad today and the 3D effect is pretty impressive. but i am not sure if the normal videos can be played in 3D mode as the sales rep said only 3D videos are supported. but the effect is pretty good with object coming to life outside the screen.
