In the raw scores, the Panasonic grabbed nearly 10 percent more points than the second-place Sony.

The Panasonic was clearly the judges’ favorite, and everyone rated it first or second.
It finished second only in black level and not by much

well like i said before i posted the link to show the effect of light.
the sony tested in there is a different model compared to the india version, the US V5100 series still uses the older BE2 with medicore image processing by todays standard compared to the indian v550A which has the BE3 which is one of the best.
secondly the india sony V series is way above is budget.the sony 40" S and V series are positioned against the samsung B530/B550A which is available for as low as 47k to 55k due to the recent price cuts, hence the massive price difference b/w the samsung and sony, which is why i haven't recommended the sony.

the panasonic G10 US version is also different from the indian version, the US version has the THX color mode.

Thanks alot guys ! 42LH90 looks the best overall option. but it will be 60% movies and the rest for gaming.

well if u can afford it then why not,it has great colors, the IPS panel will give u low response time for games, the local dimming will give u those deep blacks although not in all scenarios, but nevertheless a excellent choice.

so,what would u recommend for the following in india adder

1.42inch screen size

2.46inch screen size

No gaming.ONly hd movies&sd content(airtel/tata sky)

How does the LED samsung TV, say 40" compare with the LG 42" LH 90 ?

Is the panasonic plasma even in contention here, given its ambient light sensitivity one would think not.

im recently bought a hd ready samsung 4 series 42' plasma, very happy wid the buy.i thought it was much better thatn the bravia and the scarlett series in picture quality.but if u want a full hd then blindly go for panasonic 50'.costs 70k in bangalore

well the samsung LED has impressive native contrast, compared to LH90 well its a tough call.samsung is more expensive, its gives much sharper look,i mean animated movies realy look good in the samsung, the LG LH90 even with local dimming doesn't give u feeling that this tv has great blacks, but its certainly is cheaper.
well choosing a plasma, well it depends upon ur lighting conditions if u have light coming from rear or from side left/right u can't notice those deep blacks, secondly it won't be no where as bright as a lcd.the G10 is brighter then other plasma.but won't match a lcd.

i say go for led..i love it..so slim.... an interior designer will definitely prefer that.

Which LED model of the two ?

The LG seems like good value if you get a 2" bigger screen for the same or little less.

Slim matters less than better picture quality for me.
