Graphic Cards 400$ budget

Ok guys, im gonna get the EVGA 8600GTS 512mb GDDR3 for 210$ from the states instead of the 8800GTS 640mb coz i cant afford it:@ and bcoz i dont even play at that kind of resolutions and saving almost 180$ is quite a bit. Now what can i get for my comp for another 150-200$ max.

I will be asking another relative to get me 2GB(2x1GB) XMS2 RAM also along with
bioshock or world in conflict for the new card im gonna get and that leaves with me 150-200$ left to spend.

My current config:
Intel C2d 6320 @ 1.86Ghz each
Nvidia Geforce 6600 256mb vram
160GB HD
Sony DVD writer
1GB 667Mhz Transcend
Intel motherboard(dont know which one:@ ) {can anyone tell me on how i can check which one i have?}
AOC 193SW 19'' Monitor
Creative Inspire 2.1
Razer Diamondback
Basic Microsoft Keyboard
Zebronics Cabinet

My brother will be buying me a Coolmaster 600W power supply which was for Rs 3600 as far as the latest nehru place price update thread goes. He will also buy me a Intel P5Ne SLi motherboard costing Rs 7600 these days.

My other option is to tell my 1st relative to get me an ipod touch 8/16gb for 300/400$
The other one could get the Nvidia 8600GTS and my bro cld get me another 1Gb 667Mhz ram along with the P5ne and Power supply.

Whats ur take on it. which option should i go for and what other options can u recommend?:cool2:

A very bad choice for the graphic card, either buy a 8800GTS 320MB or buy a 8600GTS 256 MB. Rest all was very confusing and was not able to understand who was getting you what...
 
Well basically i have 2 relatives coming from the states and so i can ask one of them to spend a max of 200$ and the other a max of 400$. Now i wanted a nice graphics card, could u pls tell me the best graphics card i can get at 200$ or less. Non dx 10 card options will also be appreciated.

with the rest of the 400 i might get an ipod touch or Ram along with some stuff( would love if u can tell me what all i can get for about 200$ for my comp).

See if its a 200$ gift then go for 8600GTS 512 MB(its somewhere around 210$ on Newegg), but if its more like that you will have to pay or something then 8600GTS 256MB would be the best option below 200$ mark.

To check for your motherboard, use a software like everest. Again if you have to pay the 400$ then at the moment ram prices in India are very low and no need to import, if it will be a gift you can go for 2 GB of GSkill 6400 Ram stick, will come at somewhere around 70$. or else get a G15 Keyboard for another 60-70$. Options are endless if its supposed to be a gift. :)

And most importantly what is the last date they can make purchase.

In next 2 weeks some 2900Pro will start crawling in the US market. Thats best bang for buck card in $250 range.
 
They are gonna come in less than a month so i have some time left bfore i decide what i want to get for the 600$.

I would probably wanna get an ipod touch=300$, XMS2 2Gb(2x1GB) DDR2 800Mhz Ram and a Graphics card for around 200$ i guess. Lets see the Ati 2600pro ur talking about but i would probably never buy an Ati coz im sorta biased in favour on nvidia and coz Ati as a company doesnt make as good quality cards like nvidia does....

P.S. Banik, could u pls send me the link of the everest software that u wanyed me to dl from the net as i went on one the sites and it says that u have to pay for it which i dont wanna...
 
Yes i could get the iphone but then i dont wanna waste my money on only 4Gb of space as i wont be able to store enough movies, pics, songs and videos on it then... SO id rather get the touch 8GB and besides the american iphone wont be able to ever let me use its calling features in india so thats a bummer. I hate apple for making all these complications...
 
Would u be knowing what the iphone will cost in india when it comes in through the legal route which will sell though HCl and Wipro i guess coz i really wanted the iphone over the ipod touch without paying triple its price as it is being sold for 35k in the grey market i guess with the unlocking software...
