Graphic Cards 4850 not showing hdmi output ! why ?

Hey Guys..

I bought Palit 4850 and its not showing hdmi output via dvi port converter to my sony lcd 32 inch... nothing.. forget about HD stuff.

What can be the reason ? My older 2600xt could show easily !

Although Control Center see's it has DVI something and even SONY comes written over it..

HELP !

make sure u switched to hdmi input on TV...

sometime the default contrast n brightness are zero...so output may be there bt not notable coz of the same....

make sure u increase contrast n brightness from widin the catalyst center for ur sony 32"
 
everything seems fine mate, there's just no display.

even if there's was low or high brightness display at least screen of sony would flicker or something, but nothing happens..

but the LCD is detect by catalyst..

what to do.. :(
 
are you using the latest drivers?

is the lcd getting detected in the display properties and the device manager?
 
you are probably using an unsupported resolution or refresh rate or both, check these two first

yes it is and it does show SONY written.

Rave tried that all already...it was working fine with 2600xt card and strangely not working now... It shows connected but no display.

I'm using version 9.3 right now... will install 9.4 but I don't think that would help.
 
are you running multiple displays? wait, u are, otherwise how will you know its getting detected,

do one thing, connect the tv to the primary dvi connector to which your main display is connected and just run the tv and not the display, it should show up, atleast in bios, 4850 i found had issues setting diff resolutions for multiple displays
 
Rave already tried that too.

Not even bios comes up. This pretty doubts me what the fkin issue is.. I think I'll have to put 2600xt back and check the issue..But it was damm workin with that card.

I use multiple display so that I can see movies on my lcd and work on my computer display.

well, you can try connecting it to a different hdmi input of your lcd then

or force 24hz, 480P resolution over hdmi

Maybe its a case of car sending out an unsupported refresh rate, in which case you will have no display even if you set a resolution which is supported
 
Help Guys...is there any other kind of converter I need ?

The DVI-HDMI converter I'm using is the one which I got with 2600xt and with that it works fine, whereas since I've put 4850...I'm getting no signal over the lcd...although it detects ..and Sony comes written in catalyst too ! :(
 
guys i dont get any preview over the sceen, but it shows detected.

all same settings as they were when i had 2600xt...

tried in both..windows xp and vista :(
 
try a different hdmi to dvi converter, although i dont think that'll make a difference but still

since the thing doesnt even show up in bios, i have no idea whats wrong with it, maybe you can try different hdmi ports of the TV

sadly just hav 1...gotta buy new lcd asap.

although can this be reason enough to send it for RMA ? and can this be problem of power supply too ? :S lol .. i got 500 W amigo smps something :P
 
well unless you can find another hdmi input capable display to prove that the hdcp of the card is screwed, ud have a rough time getting an RMA claim, more so it being Palit as ive not heard a lot of good things about them
 
Please guys read the error and tell me what to do...

please help ..I'm using the DVI-HDMI dongle which I got 2600xt card..is there any other dongle I should get for 4850..if yes then from where ?
