Graphic Cards 4870 or 5770?

i CAN STILL PLAY ALL GAMES AT 1920*1080 WITH MY 4850:)

guys, i can only see 10.2 as the latest drivers...Any links for catalyst 10.3?

EDIT: I use windows 7 32Bit
 
What about GTX280?

is GTX280>> 5770?

BTW: I got the 5770. Put SF4 in 1920*1080, 8*AA, 8*AF. The card is struggling like hell:(

Also, with AA set at 2 and AF turned off the card still struggles at somepoints wherein high GPU power is required:(

I was getting the same performance with my 4850....

Just on SF4..? That game hardly has that much requirements. You on the correct drivers...10.3..?
 
Installed 10.2

10.3 are on beta and I was unable to find the download link so got the 10.2...

Even I was surprised....and hugely disappointed...I have already put the card in mkt section...

If performance does not improve I will sell it and am plannin on getting the power hungry GTX280

If you had read the post you would have seen that he was getting it second hand.. and that it was a possible price that he might get it at.

BTW: what do u mean by "it takes a while to get the card going"...Do u mean I need to play a few days and then only the card will start performing:huh::S

Err..no. I meant drivers, CCC settings. Removing residual legacy driver components. Comparing results to previous settings (hardware for you) -- then deciding if you should ditch the new hardware or not...!

Cool @asingh....

Lemme try out the drivers and see if I get any results. I am quite a n00b in GPU configuration and all. Just plug and play guy:(

Hopefully I should be able to get this wrking as per my desire

How much faster is the 5750 over a 4850 ?

buddy, if you do plan to sell off that 5770, please let me know, m form bangalore so will be easy for dealing too :P
 
Finally found the issue:)

I had put the "V-Sync" to ON. So when the V-SYNC is on the card struggles at even 2xAA in Sf4.

Now I have turned V-SYNC off and am playing at [FONT=&quot]4xAA[/FONT] without any issues.

So, Although I am happy with the 5770 I was expecting more out of it. SF4 is around a yr old and I expected it to be run easily on the 5770.

Am gonna install "Stalker-Clear Sky" and check the results in some time.

PS: I have installed the 10.3beta
 
The game runs most of the time in V-SYNC on state but when I get a GPU intensive moment (ULTRA move in SF4)....the frame rate drops by huge huge margins and when the move is done I am back to good frames:(

BTW: I tried overclocking using the catalysst control center yesterday. Used thier Auto-tune feature and overclocked to 935/1205 Mhz. After that when I played the game was running fine till about 5 mins after which the frames locked and the game hanged for about 1 minute :( and then it resumed again....

This kept on happeneing again and again...Any ideas why this could be happening?
 
Try a little modest OC, say around 900MHz or so. I never believed Auto-tune in Catalyst as it doesn't do much stress-testing of modified clocks.
