So far from all i have read, long term healthy diet will reduce risks ( but nothing is 100%), but its no cure.
Also with so much pollution these days, people like ramdev baba recommend doing exercises/pranayam in 'khuli fresh hava' is a joke. Pollution is carcinogenic too
And after all this propaganda, ramdev baba makes good money selling useless services and plenty of people to go there at upto 8000 per day for things like 'Coffee Enema'

I think a lot of us here would like to engage in good faith, so you shouldn't give up on civil discussion. I don’t think anyone here would knock Ayurveda if it could prove, through proper trials, that it could cure something like cancer and perform better than a placebo. Honestly, we probably don’t fully understand a lot about Ayurveda's potential yet, and who knows? Maybe big breakthroughs are waiting to be discovered in the future.
But I think the real issue people have is blindly trusting something that hasn’t been proven to work, especially when it comes to serious illnesses. It gets concerning when people ditch modern medicine entirely for alternative treatments without evidence, especially when their lives could depend on it.

For some reason alternative meds are given a free pass over non serious conditions.
I don't think that should be the case either.
If its proven to help, great else its not useful. Instead of this, it becomes an emotional and/or political issue.

I think people ditch modern medicine when people either don't left money or frustrated due to no result and low hope by Doctors like in thread, 3% survival chances left.
When in real life any patient feel that if there is only 3% chance left for life and so called Scientifically Proved, well researched Modern medicine failed to cover rest 97% , than why not give try to Ayurved.
If tomorrow, news spread that Ayurveda works than who will buy millions of rupees medicine for single patient. Cancer Treatment cost millions for one patient and even after spending that much money did modern medicine guarantee that it will cure root? nor Ayurved than why blame Ayurveda only.?
When trillion of rupees funded and may be back by Millions of scientist world wide medicine failed to give Guarantee to any patients, why blame Ayurveda who hardly get any money for research and may be not afford to pay to guinea pig for testing too.
All Modern Medicines are here not to treat Indian People but to cover Indian Market. For them you are just market (money) and nothing more.
Here also, in this thread who are apposing, are 90% connected (directly or indirectly) with Pharma Business and only 10% really concern about People life.
Ayurveda not came into existence after NDA Govt and fall of Pappu. Just went back and search your root, you will find Ayurved help them when no modern medicines was there so you are here today.... and I'm too.

Why all this warped thinking. We have full resources of a right wing govt that is hell bent on corrupting medicine with ayurveda in India. With a large section of population being treated this way, they can run their statistically valid tests and figure out what works and what doesnt. But they wont because it doesnt work most of the time.
Only thing people have are excuses and conspiracy theories. Always.
Ayurveda/homeopathy etc doctors are not cheap and typically their medicines run for lifetime. Easily lakhs can be wasted on this and my family has. Always there are excuses on why we cannot get verifiable positive research out of alternative crap.
We have very favorable BJP govt for 10+ years, there is no reason for funding problems. And you need to invest in proving before making money off it. But all these gurus such as ramdev and others - these so called nationalists - belive in selling first and then coming up with excuses on why they are not tested.
Anyway, there is absolutely no point in arguing with you - i am not a qualified dr, and you are definately not going to listen and have an open mind. I know this from experience with people who hold similar unbendable views. Tradtion, sadhus, pharma lobby, no money to test blablabla. Nothing can be done. Wont post anymore.

Nonsense absolute statements. Typical warped thinking. Point is simple, prove stuff and then sell it. You have to invest capital in testing and if things work out then you can sell. Same as any medicine. And it should also get confirmed in real world results. Obviously i am not a medical expert, so cant say how things are done.

Most of my early life ailments were treated through Ayurveda only and i see them as total frauds snake oil salesmen. They couldnt even identify that i had asthma, only came to know after visiting proper doctor after couple of decades. Repeat this muiltiple times for different things. You will ofc have excuse that we must go to proper dr whatever the f that is.

It's not your mistake that you dislike ayurveda because in your early life when you were dependent your elders, who might probably like 95% of Indians, keep treating you from Neem Hakim type snake oil sellers kind so called Ayurved, Unani medicine road side sellers who mostly add Steroid or Afeem (Opium) for temporary solution of each & every health issue and in long term detoriate the helath of patient and also detoriate the TRSUT on AYURVEDA.
In last 10+ years if BJP allot all money for Ayurveda did any money left for other things? There is USA/EUROP for Modern Medicine and one side India, just compare GDP, allocation etc. and you will came to know that even Congress too did little good for Ayurveda and BJP too doing better than ...

I knew you would assume that, but thats not the case.
Anyway good luck with your ayurveda 'Holistic' treatments in future. Hopefully, if something serious happens, you will be open and fearful enough to get proper medical treatments too.

yes, it is medicine since ancient time when there was no chloroform or modern medicine to perform surgeries/tooth removal etc. procedures available... but only when it is used by expert, knowledgeable Ayurveda Practitioner or Reputed Degree Holder Doctors.Ehm... what if it's a medication ?

This is extremely misinformed.
Opioids are heavily regulated even in India and are not available for good to go treatment.
Not all doctors are allowed to prescribe opioids as treatment. They are to be used in specific scenarios only by experts.
Also, Ayurveda can have many hidden potential but most of them need to be scientifically proven otherwise it is Ayurveda which sadly becomes the snake oil business. Just like allopathy stands up to scientific rigour, Ayurveda must, else it becomes faith healing which isn’t really any treatment at best and harmful at worst.

it is very good and rare side effect pain killer but sad that few greedy use it as Drugs and every govt. in India for betterment of large people allow only controlled cultivation to License Holder Farmers and that too in very very limited quantity.

Brother have you gotten treatment in Kerala Ayurveda?? They are charging lakhs in many cases, they are not doing social service. They quoted my father 55k for knee pain. Patanjali is earning thousands of crores in the name of Ayurveda. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but you cannot say that Ayurveda is being ignored by companies because there is no money to be made.

Kerla is giant hub in India or may be in world for Ayurvedic Medicines, I will be more happy if they came out some good well researched, scientifically proved ayurved medicines, so Ayurveda get status equals to Modern Medicine and work well for whole world human being who are eagerly, desperately looking for alternate affordable treatment for loved one dear one ...

I disagree. Ayurveda is making extraordinary claims. The burden of proof lies with Ayurvda and its practitioners to prove itself.
Others are in the right to criticise it and the Ayurvedic practitioners’ in their inability to prove the system of treatment. Hiding behind ancient glory and faith is a poor defence when literal life and well being of people are at stake.
This is totally valid.
Ayurveda needs to be proven, regulated, standardised and controlled to improve quality, accessibility and affordability of healthcare for the people.
Note that there are mega level scamsters exploiting that name.
Funny because when science does mistakes, they will call for better science, nobody blames 'science'.
I think Emperor is asking for more leniency towards Ayurveda giving it more modern treatment, rather than calling out 'tradition and ancient' as a negative property which is ridiculous. His whole position might be that Ayurveda too can be studied far better using scientific methods which is already being done in a big manner in west, but ridiculed locally due to presence of huge number of quacks and irrational usage.
