Storage Solutions 500GB SATA for a old P4?

Hi,

I have a P4 2.4GHz, Intel 845G mobo, 512MB RAM. Currently I have 2 x 40GB IDEs.
I am gonna upgrade the whole rig after a few months. But right now I need extra space.. 80GB is just not enough. [I know its like ancient :rofl:]

So, I am thinking of buying a SATA hard disk with IDE to SATA cable. My question is, is there any capacity limit for my configuration or can I use like a 500GB SATA hard disk? coz I plan to buy 500GB hard disk.
 
You can use 500 GB HD without a problem with the ide to sata converter. Don't make it primary OS drive if u are using sata->ide converter .
