which is the lowest power consuming graphic card with most performance?
I want buy a gfc
but no money to spend on branded psu:no:...
So sapphire 5670 or 4670 :huh:is better to my normal psu?

i have one normal psu which comes with my i ball cabin:S
plsssssss reply

Just curious but what are the rest of your system specs? And what is the total budget you are willing to spend for the graphics card?

Asking this since entry-level decent power supplies are barely expensive considering the total expense of the system. :)

^+1

Make sure you mention your monitor size/gaming resolution as well.
The 5670 makes the better choice. It costs just a bit more. If at all possible though, consider using a better PSU. Doesn't have to be something extravagant, a decent enough unit will do.

Also, avoid typing like "thisssssssss".

sorry about please

so its better to get a 4670

?
Try giving the above posts another read.

1)Post your system specs. for eg., Processor, motherboard, number of HDDs etc.

2)Post your display/monitor size and gaming resolution.

3)Your absolute maximum budget for the upgrade?
Between the 5670 and the 4670, the 5670 will almost always be a better choice. Do reply to 1) and 2) first before making your decision.

wOOt! Is that a self-conclusive post? :P

Post the rest of your system specs. You may able to get a good deal on a second hand power supply and/or gfx card.

Are the bundled PSU's that bad that they cant handle even a card which takes only 70-80w on load and 15-20w on idle ? Considering the rest of the rig is average .

^You never know what goes into the making of these cheap power supplies. For instance, I had a Mron make 450W power supply which was used in my 24x7 Atom downloading system. It went kaput with a spark, after about 2 months' usage. The Atom system draws less than 50W of power.

OTOH, there have been instances when psus bundled with the enclosures have known to last. A matter of luck perhaps. But if the martyr takes away other components along with it, one may repent later on. ;)

well i think 5670 takes a little less power than the 4670... so the 5670 is suggestable, ofcourse taht is until u tell us u have a P4 :|

Which is a real possibility since OP hasn't mentioned his specs. after many attempts to enquire about them . :(

I just wish more people would read the sticky/pinned topics... :(
Honestly, they are for your benefit folks, would get you good advice faster and eliminate anything that a member may overlook while suggesting you stuff. It would make your experience here so much better...
*sigh*
/end rant

Actually even i was thinking of buying a new rig and due to budgetary constraints was thinking of running the 5670 on the bundled PSU / Guess i will have to sacrifice some other stuff .

Its not like you won't be able to run it, but its always better to be safe. Components dying and being declared out of warranty will always hurt, but when you are already on a budget it really stings. :(
Even if you can get one of the lower end units like VIP etc (600-900 INR AFAIK), those should still be better than generic bundled units. Post your total budget + component list, you might be able to work something out.
Cheers mate! :)

My friend is running it(5670) fine on his generic iBall 400W PSU. He has 2 HDDs, Stock E7400 and 2GB RAM..

and are you waiting to see when his rig is gonna RIP....? better safe than sorry mate. ;)

on the other hand i totally agree with Amien... a psu is like a heart for the compuper.. a cheap one can most probably give it a heart attack! (my 2 sticks of RAM's are RIP-ing cause of my "Priya PSU which was rated at 600w, 22A... :| )

If the PSU fails, I believe there is still a safety device on the mobo to protect the components on it from unduly high currents. How can these components die if the PSU fails?

m using 5670 on amigo 500w ..working fine

and had been using 4850 in the past

have c2d ..4 gig ram..3 hdds..

dunno if its good or bad smps.. :s its not the best ofcourse !

Just one question to all people who are in doubt here.

Would you risk your new Honda Civic on Diesel if you did not have any more cash ?
