That is certainly awesome.... Is that the new world record??

And abt AMD, they may not have the highest clock speed but they certainly kick Intel's @$$ when it comes to actual performance. A 4 Ghz AMD 64 will still beat the hell out of that 6.95GHz intel.

And that looks like an SLI board..... nforce 4 Intel edition??

AFAIK the 4ghz AMD i dont think was stable enough to run super-pi

and yes i know a 3ghz A64 amd will beat a 4ghz intel or higher :)

its an asus board....not exactly sure what tho

dude just search and see the performance of OCed 1.7Ghz centrino ..... it beats almost all the intels including 3.2GHz ....... so due to high clock speeds intel is in its own trap ...... FX -55 at stock speed beats almost all the intels ..... intel pentium 4 was only designed for clock speeds ..... and that is major flaw in its design ..... that y its able to attain such a high clock speed ......

BTW, centrino is not the chip name :) Centrino is a combination of a P-M, built in WI-FI and some other devices created for mobility.

The chip you are talking about is the P-M, core name Dothan. Clock for clock the dothan will beat an FX-55 in just about everything....but then again @ 2.23Ghz max stock its not going to beat a stock fx-55.

Yes the Netburst architecture of P4's was not so succesful..as intel has now found out that clock speed is not everything. This is why they are changing now, intel is planning to release something in the lines of a dual core dothan dubbed "conroe" for desktops. And this my friends will totally pwn :p

thanks about the chip name .... anyways i know that ..... anyways lets wait for the intel with builtin memory controller :p .......

^^ Pure spamming.

As for the OC, quite good but again just to show clock speeds that Intel can achieve, not performance.

Is this what you folks are discussing:

They went past 7GHz and broke the 19s 1M SuperPi barrier ! And the Team Member cpulloverclock, IIRC, holds the fastest 1M SPi time that I'm aware of for Venice 3000+ on Air (but with 2 x 256 sticks I think :P ) !

Team Japan takes Top Spot in SuperPi
Posted by: XtremeNews on Tuesday, August 09, 2005 - 06:56 PM

After relentlessly pursuing the 7Ghz barrier and originally landing only inches away, world renowned overclocker from Team Japan, Memesama, has finally broken the 7Ghz barrier using Intel's 3.8Ghz 670 Processor while maintaing bench stability @ 7.13Ghz ! Click the headline for More Info.

An amazing feat from any perspective, the 7Ghz barrier is hard enough to cross with a stroke of luck, using what is called a suicide shot, let alone with benchmark stability, which is a definite first in the world of overclocking. His World Record SuperPi numbers include: SuperPi 1M @ 18.5s (breaking the 19s barrier !) SuperPi 8M @ 3m 38s (Currently #1 Spot !)Team Japan has been very active lately in the world of overclocking and we thank them, Memesama, Tam, and cpulloverclock for sharing their results with XtremeSystems.
