Guys,
Planning to import a AVR from us and wanted to know how to connect it to Indian mains. I am thinking I need a step up transformer of 600 Watts. How much would it set me back by? Can you provide an online link of an american site that sells one if its cheaper there.

Or should I just import speakers, considering they will plug in to our mains with the appropiate adaptor. Or is a step down transformer required for speakers purchased form US as well?

Cheers.

Guys its clear that I need a 500 Watt step down transformer. Can anyone telll me from where and how much in Delhi can I source this from?

I have used Raksha brand step-down transformers from 500 Watt to 2KW on U.S. electrical/electronics items. They are well made except for the 110V output socket. The plugs are prone to loose contacts so they have to be seated properly. Other than that, no problems and they are still going strong after a couple of years. I have them behind V-Guard voltage regulators for extra protection.

I bought them from a store on S.P. Road, Bangalore. You should be able to get them at the local electrical/electronics ghetto.

What was the cost for the regulator and transformer?
