Hey guys, this is my final check, as to which PSU to buy, which I will be doing it day after tomorrow.

This is what it will be housing, as my components must have just landed in Chennai from Bombay. Originally bought from US, HUGE thanks to Anish aka i_max2k2 (the guy with 280 tri sli!!) thanks buddy:hap2: . Will be posting pics once I pick up the stuff from my friend who gladly agreed to carry the entire box!

Asus P5Q Deluxe

C2D E8500

Visiontek 4870

G.Skill 2x2 GB 1066 Mhz kits

I will be OCing the CPU to upto 4Ghz 24x7 and have the TRU90i+Panaflo 90mm fan. yes I will go for a quad a little later :bleh:

I will be trying out the 4850+4870 CF for a couple days, after which I will sell my 4850 I think!

Also while purchasing the PSU, I will be buying the CM690 thanks to all the recommendations by the TE members, special thanks to Bikey for this!:hap2:

After the huge OT story, pls tell me which PSU to get? I had my mind set on the BZ800 and its short wires I hear from Siddhu!, but the Corsair's 5 year warranty is really tempting, so throw in the pro's and con's and help me decide!

TIA

PS- no one's debating my decision to go for the CM690 na?! Anything else you guys I might have to purchase?

IF your looking for the bling factor then go for Tagan, otherwise Corsair is the better choice. But cable management is going to be PITA :(

Bling factor doesnt matter at all, I want the best btw the 2 in performance, and Funky had mentioned that efficiecy wise the Tagan's dont get the credit they deserve, apparently they are better than the Corsair's, so that was a telling factor. I suck at cable management, so I guess modular would be better for me?! too confusing...the corsair 1:1 swap warranty is true?

UR memory is gr8 :bleh: , CM 690 is wise descision, king of air cooling. :cool2:

paahji, you havent told me which PSU to go for?!

Both r overkill, + 1 Corsair cables r long, which is big PRO coz U have got CM690, and bottom mounted PSU, Bublez told BZ800's 24pin is too short and stressing mobo.

yea agree w/ saintsinner, TX 650W is best bang for buck now, enough upto 4850 CF.

TX750, buy it. Cable management with the TX750 and CM690 wont be a problem, you just need patience.

Tagan is a very good PSU ... but these guys haven't marketed the product that well and has some flaws... the turbo mode on there PSU is one example, its just a stupid concept and its short cables aren't good enough for FUll tower Cabbies.

But corsair has better warranty and great after sales support.

I read somwhere that the rails of the tagan are more powerful than the Corsair, Tagan has less ripple too, however the difference is neglible both fall under ATX standards. Overall Corsair is a much better buy with longer cables 5 years warrantee and ASS.

Ya BZ800 has a slight edge over 750TX, But in terms of raw power produced Corsair leads as it produce 900W power at 80% efficiency whereas a Tagan can't but Noise levels( ripples) are higher in 750TX .

900 watts? under what conditions? are you referring to some review which you had read?

could you pass on the linky please?
