It makes quite a bit of difference. Some games show upto a 20% performance gain with 512 MB over 256 MB. And in future games, the difference will only grow.
 
i was initially looking for 7900gt/7950gt, but then i saw this beast and i've fallen for it....i've already bought one from zip zoom fly for 260$....even though i've read abt the use of samsung 1.1ns memory (which is supposed to cause problems at speeds >800Mhz), i think this card is currently the best bang for buck....overclocks easily to 700/800 (c/m)....even at stock, it beats 7900gt and 7950gt...adding to that is the heat pipe cooling + silent cooler....this card will rock for sometime to come...
i've no plans for the 8800 series currently, 'coz their extremly high specs certainly require lots of power and money...so i'll use 7900gto for 2-3 years to come...

by downclocking memory (which couldn't perform well at 800Mhz) to 660Mhz, and selling it at such an awesome price point, evga/msi have produced a winner...

My friend will be bringing this card next month here....i can't wait to play on it....it was a limited edition card brought at an awesome price....its out of stock everywhere now...

this card performs really close to a 7900gtx...and is much better than both 7900gt & 7950gt in terms of both value & performance....
 
LOL....i bought it from zipzoomfly 15 days ago...for 260$.....my friend is bring it along with him....am also getting a logitech g5(50$), and OCZ GamerXtreme 2X1GB RAM DDR2 800Mhz with XTC HeatSpreaders (200$) from US...should be definitely SWEET!
 
yeah....some people who have an E6600, Gskil 2 GB of DDR2 800, an MSI 975 Platinum, a G5, an X-fi, and water cooling and an X1900 XT (which seems to be in hiding right now :P ).
