Hi Guys,
I'm thinking of replacing my 5yr old Honda Unicorn
Max budget is 80-85k

How is Pulsar 180??
Honestly i would hate letting a bike like Unicorn go but it's kinda getting boring :p

I travel roughly around 8-12km daily with occasional highway rides

And also does anyone know of any good painters for bikes in Mumbai suburbs ?? I might as well spend some extra bucks and get my Unicorn pimped up if I'm going to stick with the same bike :)

Suggestions???

IMO unicorn is the best bike under 80k !!
Since you already own that bike,
You left with very few options.
Pulsar 180 is good but its not the best.
I love Honda engines coz they are good for revving and durability.
I suggest you to stick with your unicorn for a while or extend your budget and get a p220 Or New R15(its really cool).:)

P220 will cost me 91k
I might just service my Unicorn and get it all pumped up

stick with uni fr a while and add up and get a bull !!

Bullet is out of the question, dad has to ride it as well and he isn't comfortable with an Enfield

Apache 180.

Nope, no TVS and suzuki bikes

Guys, does anyone know about any good painters for bikes in Mumbai suburbs
I'm thinking of getting a matt black color done on my bike with custom vinyl

@YashBhatt Do the coloring job from service center...I once checked at Mira Road Honda Service center, they provide color job and its proper like what new bike has. Will cost you around 3-4k

Yamaha FZ series?
Or if you extend your budget, Pulsar 200NS would be good choice.

200NS if way over my budget(97K) and Yamaha FZ doesn't really have the engine performance that an Honda can give which is the reason i'm getting really confused out here
I don't wanna leave the Honda Wagon at the same time i'm getting bored of my ride :p

Yea,will have to check at Kandivali center which is the nearest authorized service center regarding the kind of paint job i require
Nobody owns a Pulsar 180cc out here ?? (The new one)

People have said that its way better with respect to performance compared to the old model, any takers on that particular comment ??

Selling your Unicorn and getting a Pulsar 180 won't be much of an upgrade... quality-wise it will actually be a downgrade ;)

Stick with Unicorn for some more time and save up to upgrade to something better.. (I'm doing the same with my Unicorn, until I can save up for a Pulsar 200NS)

You are the 12th person(Including a Guy from Bajaj) who gave me the advice to stick with Unicorn :p
That is what i'm suppose to do,i guess

Probably get a paint job done and get it properly serviced as it has gone messier during the so-called Mumbai rains

do a service and a detailing job :)

Here's my question :
The paint on the fiber part at the rear side under the unicorn sticker has been rubbed due to the use of a helmet holder(The one that looks like a bicycle tyre lock)
Will doing a detailing/paint job cover the exposed fiber(Literally can be seen as the paint has come off) ??

How old is your unicorn?
Maybe add some performance upgrades to it :D

Almost 5yrs old now
I had been using K&N filter for 10days but didn't really get much benefit apart from the nice pickup and the sleek sound plus it kinda ruins the whole Honda Engine theory(Performance / Durability)

@YashBhatt if you really want to replace your Unicorn then go for Royal Enfield-Classic Bullet 500. Its a beast.

Now it depends if you like Bullet, even I don't use to like bullet then one fine day I got a test ride on my friends bike and wohuuuuuuuu its awesome. Price is high will cost you 1.5 lakh and avg also very less.

You can even check the new Pulsar 200 NS

Its too old now,you should buy a new bike definately.

You should really get new bike now.
I owned a Pulsar 150 before. My bro had a 180. Not much of a difference. Then i drove a unicorn.!! Extremely refined engine it has , low on maintenance , super smooth.
Considering you have a budget of 80K. Would seriously recommend to stay with unicorn for time being and upgrade to a pulsar 220f with saved bucks..or if dont intend to go above 80K..definetly Yamaha fzs. Its good. Pulsar's engine tend to go out of smoothness with time.!

pictures please
@greenhorn,
My rear side near the tail light looks like this and its the same situation on both sides
Will a paint job cover that up ?

I was thinking of P220 but then today morning one of friends took me to a Royal Enfield Showroom where he booked a Classic 350 and boy i was amazed by that bike,I took a test drive and i kinda just feel for it
I might get the Classic 350 after saving up some more, give dad an Activa or won't even sell my Unicorn so that dad can use it :p

Use your unicorn for some more time and get the pulsar 200NS, its just slightly above your budget and will be a good upgrade for you, check out the xbhp review: New Pulsar 200NS Review: xBhp's First Impression and ride report

Thanks mate !! :)
