PC Peripherals 8400GS for physX ?

As I am using 4870 as my graphics adapter, I have read that an nvidia 8 series card can be used as an physx accelerator in parallel.

But I haven't found much on the almighty google if 8400GS is good enough to to push physx enabled games. Some suggest not to go below 8600GT/9500GT, but thats out of my budget. I will appreciate if you can give me some insight on this.

If i'm not wrong, ur main Gfx Card has to be a Nvidia for PhysX on No.2.

And all 8 series cards support PhysX.

for a card to work as dedicated PHYX card it is neccasary that :
#ur mobo must support SLI (must have 2*PCIE slots)
#ur PRIMARY card must be an NVIDIA card .
#no SLI BRIDGE required .

as u have 4870, 8400 as a PHYX card is out ......

My P5Q E is a crossfire mobo, so i do have free slots.

Ahh well need to do more research.

Yes you can do this BUT not in Vista. Windows 7 or Windows XP.

Windows 7 allows mixing of multiple vendor graphics cards. Any OS below tha won't work.

U surely dont need a SLi compatible mobo, and afaik, the primary display adapter doesnt need to b frm nvidia as well......

But dont get anythng weaker than 8600/9500 for physx processing.

Mind u, 8400GS is resolution limited. Cannot power more than 1700 x ...., if i 'm not wrong. So, go for 8500GT and above.
