I have seen too many Green and Blue Edition drives go up in flames at the wrong time destroying my friends submission and Render projects, thats why :ohyeah:
 
HDDs of all brands are failing all over the place nowadays. In fact I've had hdds of Seagate, WD and most recently Samusung failing; you can hardly take that as the deciding factor especially considering that WD has a decent enough RMA process. On the other hand the WD 1tb Black is the best performing 7200rpm hdd that is easily available (since the Samsung F3s are hard to find in India).
 
But dude the blacks are the most expensive too command a 1000 or 500 buck premium over the regular, as for the RMA thing in Bangalore it is weak as well as you have to personally deliver the disk unlike Seagate's door to door service

Boss where do you get door to door service for Seagate.:S WD has pick up facilities in all major cities AFAIK and for Seagate you have take the drive to the service center(Accel Frontline) in case of RMA.
 
I'm in Bangalore and WD arranged pickup of my hdd for rma from my place about a year back. Has that changed?
 
What software do you plan to use for your Video Editing does it reply on GPU acceleration ? Color Gamut and IPS/TN panel type is an important criteria for selecting a Monitor for accurate color reproduction.
