Hello Recently i had came across two graphic cards

XFX GeForceâ„¢ 8600GT 512MB DDR2 @ Price Rs.5100&
XFX Nvidia 8600 GT 256 MB DDR3 @ Price Rs. 6500
Rather it is same with all brands

512MB DDR2 are Cheaper then 256MB DDR3 can anyone tell me wat to buy & plz explain this difference between prices.

I want to Buy GFX Card in Budget of 5-6k can u tell me which one is best i am Website Dev. & AutoCad Designer.

well 8800 GS will come around 7.5k from KMD....its a good card...

you could get a 8800 GTS 320 mb for 7.5k also...

all prices are newegg.com prices.... KMD(dealer in Techenclave) can get u these

....non available locally for that price

then get the 8600gt from pheonix it'll do good if u gonna be in 1074*768 res.

DDR3>DDR2 so dont go for the DDR2 versions :)

The 8600 GT card is very good for at medium res.
I have the Nvidia 256 Mb GDDR3 version and I dont have any complaints (atleast as of now :hap2: ).

presuming that you want it for those applications would say go for the ati's 2600xt or 2600pro which can be software modded to give a firegl's performance, which are true workstation cards.also get the 512Mb one since memory size generally matters more in workstation applications rather than the memory speed.

ill have 256 ddr3 in evga only , in a weeks time at a pretty good price...if u can wait for that then great

as such the prices u have (XFX 86GT 256DDR3 for 6500/0) is too high imho

8600GT 256MB DDR3 cards are less than 5K now i think. :ashamed:
(4.5-4.8K odd iirc.)

Can someone post prices of the same after checking with theri source or some dealer please?? :)

The XFX prices posted by the Op are the prices for which the cards were selling last year. It definitely has breached the 5K mark, else we would not see Rs3500 deals in the market section.
