Graphic Cards 8600GTS OC score only 11098

Hi all,
i am back to india and as a stand by i took 8600GTS OC edition from MSI.
on pack they have mentioned that 3d 05 score will be 12500 on default mode.
and few OC levels it cross 14500 :)
just look at my sig and tell me weather this card can perform better ....
coz i am getting only 11098 score with latest drivers.
score was 11021 when all devices connected. then i removed one extra HDD, 2 Fans, DVD RW and then tried .. score improved but not what the box is saying....:(

currently i am running proc + ram + card @ default only...

Whats the big deal about 3DMark ???? it only depends on clock speed and your CPU . post some FPS and find out if its good from us ;)
 
well i am not hardcore gamer... if you read the reviews then you can find that this card is better than 7900GT and sometime even perform better than 7950GT (not in every test)
real power will be tested when any DX 10 game will come.
i just have 17" CRT and i play only AOE kind of games.... so wont be giving hard time to this card.... will try Half Life and FEAR for you people.

these specs are for default one... i dont know what my OC model is running...

Memory Clock: 1000 MHz (2000 DDR)
Memory Bandwidth: 32 GB/sec
Shader Operations: 21600 Operations/sec
Pixel Fill Rate: 5400 MPixels/sec
Texture Fill Rate: 10800 MTexels/sec
Vertex Operations: 5400 MVertices/sec
 
Well thats strange cause my friend just called me up yesterday telling me that he had called up the dealers at Lamington to inquire about 8600GTS's prices & found Point Of View 8600GTS price to be around 9k itself & Leadtek to be 1k more I suppose.Can anyone confirm these prices? Sounds like a sweet deal.Also how much power supply will this card need as a minimum requirement?

Woaah!! Thats a lot of price difference there.. :S

Seems like the 8600GT is more of a VFM card at that price..

You sure buddy.In that case just one more OT question & sorry for divulging from the actual topic.Is a 8600GT better choice as compared to a 7600GT?
 
not sure but i might go back to singapore again in 2-3 weeks....
you might have MSI 8600GTS OC on sale for 9k:hap2:
my friend plans for new system so if he opt to got for 7900gs then this card can be for TE guys....please dont ask me for price drop. coz will be investing again in 2900xt / xtx..
