no virus found, no spyware found... used bitdefender.. i have a dual boot.. infact 2 oses on 2 different HDD placed adjacent. Just have to change the boot priority to boot the preferred one. The sluggish behaviour is not with XP but only with Vista. I reinstalled Vista, still the same thing :|

Hmm that is still above normal even for summer , things will happen in seconds as far as electronics is concerned. Take the sink out and clean it and apply AS5 then try again, also try removing ur CCFL and try.

If not then make a 120mm fan to blow on the cooler it'll bring down the temp around 7-10" if u still need better cooling go for a HR-GT. :)

i did the first part and i saw a temp decrease of 7 degrees.. but i am really surprised on the overall performance of the system, its so damn sluggish.. i mean even if i switch between windows .. it thinks for about 2 mins !!!! .. all the processes seemed fine.. no 100% cpu .. nothing at all.. again if i touch the card with my hands... its untouchably hot  ... there is a 120mm Fan right on top of the card which is attached to thermalright 120 A.. i also have increased to fan speed to 100 % .. could it be an issue with the E8400 ?
