Hi all,

Can anyone please tell me the exact price of the following cards in India .... Lamington road or Pune prices ...

1. XFX 8800 GTX

2. MSI 8800 GTX

3. Asus 8800 GTX

4. Sparkle 8800 GTX

Others if they are available in india .....

Like

EVGA, OCZ, BFG.

Also amongst these, which one is the most recommended. I am not interested in any bundled games or softwares, just want to know that overall which is the best board :)

Thanks a lot

Any idea if i get the OCZ thru memory-configurator.com ... how much will it cost me total. I mean direct conversion comes to 26K approx. then 40 euros is the shipping ..... so it will be 29K approx.

After custom .. will it reach to the same amount of 32 - 36 K ....

thanks

huh....Dont even think of that unless someone can carry it here...After all that hassle you get a product without Indian warranty...

Yeah, this is the reason why i even i am scared of shipping it. And I don't have any friend coming from the states. I guess I will have to buy it from Lamington Road ..... Lets hope till august it reaches 30to 32K .... I am hoping for some price drop. Lets see :(

Thanks all. You have been really helpful :)

:) Inquire about leadtek graphic cards. They are cheaper then asus and xfx and very good value for money....zebronics officially deals in them...

I agree...zebronics has priced these suckers rather well too. Leadtek's are good, and the 8800gtx's cooler looks awesome... Its the same stock nvidia thingy they've used, but its a wonder what a little cutout metal and some tinted fiber can do :P

^^ 8800 GTX are obsoletes ones...Go for HD 4850

Atleast hav a look at the graphics card section and search before digging such older thread.

@ nitrous - its outperformed now Sir !

6.5k~ ATi HD 4770 or 7.5k GTS 250 will match this easily.

Currently GTX 260 Core 216 is best bang for buck card, costs 11k~ locally :)

btw, good old 8800GTX still powerful than HD 4770 or even better than GTS 250.

no doubt 8800GTX > 8800GTS 512

u know 9800GTX is same as old 8800GTS 512 MB.

9800GTX was replaced bt GTX+ with 55nm fab and slight improvement in clocks.

later this 9800GTX+ was again renamed to GTS250 on a smaller PCB and 1GB VRAM.

so practically 8800GTX shud be better or similar performer compared to today's GTS 250. Both have 128 SP, but 8800GTX has much wider bus@ 384 bit while GTS 250 has 256 bit.

HD 4770 is outaa question.

but remember, even for a second, 8800GTX isnt worth even 6k. It eats almost 1.5~2x power than a GTS 250 and runs much hotter. Also has only a PCIE X16 1.0 interface.

Dude I dont think an 8800 gtx can come and beat the GTS 250. a 256 bit bus is more than enough for good memory throughput ....

Heck even the 128 bit HD4770 performs well in many tests...

What an awesome job :bleh: by nitrous to dig up this old thread..
In retrospect.. Its funny seeing the ridiculous prices of 8800gtx at that time...
<30k OMG>
After just 2 years you will see GTX 295 in place of the 8800gtx..
Shows how much premium the manufacturer and Board Partners makes out of high perf components...

8800GTX outperforms even the HD4850 in several games, whoever spoke to 4770 beating it obviously has no clue. =p

^ U must check Supra's 4850 vs 8800 Ultra review, 4850 performs equal to 8800 Ultra, we all know 4770 is 'max' 10% slower compared to HD 4850. HD 4770 will laugh @ any GTX, Ultra etc once overclocked.

Dont underestimate HD 4770, once AA enabled Nvidia has no answer. :cool2: This thing idles @ 10W. :bleh:
