Graphic Cards 8800GTS Benchmarks..

Yeah .. dx9.0c is no real test for a 8800GTX/GTS card .. coz the current gen. has already been pushed damm far in terms of performance ... real tests should be with dx10 ..

But hey , even then ,.. didn't the 6 series give a huge performance boost over the FX series in terms of performance , both in dx9 and dx8.1 ?? maybe its the game's , not the card ..

But anyway .. the 8800's do give some awesome scores .. but even then , i rather wait for a better revision .. something like the 8900GT or the 8600GT :P

Current version of FSX is 9.0c based.MS will release a DX10 patch for it when Vista comes out.
 
^^ ya but even if those are dx9 games as rio said the numbers should be atleast 30-50% more than the best card atm. cause right now thats all the card is gonna be used for. dx9 games.
 
That's sweet, but imagine what an OCed GTX can demolish then :D But if the GTS clocks so well, it's the next best VFM card out there.

If it was 425$, I would have ordered it right now!....

Me just waiting for a while, hoping prices will drop :(.
 
Thought it was going to be $425-450... no? I'm not following GTS as much as GTX... if GTS is $499, spend $100 more for the GTX :D

its not exactly value for money. but it is worth the money for ppl who havent upgraded the gpus to x1900 or 7900 yet. u are getting something at a decent price way b4 ati's dx10 offering is near. although i am sure if u wait till christmas u will get it for 400-425

just saw the benchs & it was nice. the gts seems around 35- 50% faster than a x1900xt. not to mention the gtx is way faster. but overall i feel the release of the card is a bit too early.
 
The GTS overclocked, matches upto the GTX.

Christmas deals in the US aren't that good at all... the best time of year for discounts is Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving. I bought a 6600gt for $150 back in 2004 :)

Fourth Thursday of November in the US..

The Friday after is called Black Friday, and it's got crazy deals all over. It demarcates the start of the XMas buying season there.
 
Nov 23-26 is the long Thanksgiving weekend; you'll see good deals popping up around that time.
 
I doubt the GTX will fall to 500. I think the GTS will prob be around 399 and GTX at 549-599 by that time

Edit: I meant christmas time
