i am trying to do SLI on a NForce4 SLI motherboard with 2 8800GTX card and getting very pathetic results :( ..... is it not possible to SLi on this mobo ??

Power bro...what PSU are u using? 550W TP2... I got that same one...It'll handle 1 8800gtx not two...

even x8 slots should handle that bandwidth well, so the results shouldn't be pathetic...

are you using tagan 850W and what mobo ?
 
i think he might mean pathetic results in benchmarks. if u using on the nforce4 i guess u are using with your opteron 170. it will surely be a bottleneck for 8800gtx sli in many benchmarks.

i using 1100w tagan ..... i don't think power will be a issue .....

processor is 2.5Ghz Venice :oops: ..... not the opetron ..... don't want to mess up with my system

but still i am getting results worst than single 8800GTX :-/

@ sandy ..... mobo is a MSI NF4 SLI .....

@ stormy .... i know processor will be bottleneck but still i am getting massive drop in performance .....

btw both cards are Nvidia reference ...... one card is having two PCI-e connector (6 pin each )..... while secondary card is having one 6 pin and other 8 pin PCI-e connector :-/
 
2.5Ghz Venice and gtx in sli ? :rofl: there is your bug :P Arre yaar use a dual core atleast :P

Rahul can you post a pic of the 8800GTX with the 8pin connector? Just want to see how the connector looks like if you dont mind :)

There is ur issue... you shoved the 8pin EPS CPU connector into the card. That psu has no 8pin gpu connector. Infact no psu in the world has one. Its a miracle that the card is not fried :P.

aare yaar i haven't connected the EPS CPU connector, i just said that the card is having 8 pin connector.... i am using 4x6 pin PCI-E connector for both card .....

and at least don't expect that from me :P ......

have one Quad core Q6700 with me but no mobo for that ..... tried getting a 680i no where available :(
 
CPU is the Issue Rahul.

Btw Rahul, P5N32-E SLi is available :P.
 
^^^eh ? is it? ive been looking for it for about 2 weeks now, even people from RASHI have given up(at least in chennai) if anyone can get me one frm within INDIA (need warranty n stuff) let me know.

BTW I guess this thread was intended as the lol of the day.... :ohyeah: I kno he has a 975 board but tell me .. who wants to try doing an SLI on that ?? :bleh: ... anyone ???
 
Has anyone tried SLI on 975X? Do those modified nVidia drivers that give SLI support handle the 8800GTX. Would be interesting to see the results of a 8800GTX SLI on 975X.
 
have one 975 lying around but don't want to do all stuff over again ..... don't have time :(

with processor i can expect 25% drop in performance but here its more than 100% ...... so i guess its the chipset .... anyways i think i will be getting a 680i soon then will post the scores :) .......
