i have a pentium d 2.66 ,2gb ram ddr2,9600 gso sonic palit 386mb ,but somehow the 1080p movies i have downloaded seem to lag?
does anyone have any idea?
i have tried installing all codec(ac3,coreavc,mkvspliter,etc)

Ill save you some time, get Media Player Classic - Home cinema latest version (alternatively use come codec pack which has mpc-hc).

Goto options > internal filters > tick h264.

ok and you're done.

Almost all the 1080p rips on the net are incompatible with dvxa, hence they cannot make use of gpu acceleration. Your best bet for these is coreavc decoder.

I have achieved the simplest setup for playing HD on vista. I've installed mpc-hd, coreavc, and kmplayer. That is all. No other junk is required :P In mpc-hc options, select custom evr as the renderer. Then in external filters, add coreavc video decoder.

When you are playing a 1080p file, or some 720p file which is not dxva compatible, set coreavc to "Prefer". When playing a dvxa compatible file, set it to "Block".

has anyone considered Vadapav (VDPAU) by nvidia?

[Phoronix] NVIDIA VDPAU Benchmarks

It does seem to serve the purpose for extracting maximum juice from the GPU for HD playback.

I hope they'd come up with something similar for windows users.

As for now i guess you have a decent setup for HD playback. Get rid of everything, start with a clean slate and just put in whatever zhopu sir has adviced.

@Zhopu: Thats a clean enough setup.

zhopudey thanks for the info..

works perfectly man.

no need to change drivers and stuff.

when all others failed u stood up!!

thanks again :)
