nice find ... wow the performance of 9800GT is similar to 4850 and even faster in few games :O

Jumping the gun, are we? Not so quick. But I do believe that 9800 is gonna be a better competitor for 4850 than 8800GT ever was. But even if everything turns out great for Nvidia, the best the Green team can hope for is a situation like 3870 vs 9600GT. Only this time the tables will be turned.

Also 9600GT vs 8800GT is not too bad an example to demonstrate 9800GT vs 4850. In raw power and at higher res 4850 is just gonna pull ahead.

So what we will see now is a little bit of price cut from ATI. Whatever was available in MIRs in US will be a norm and not exception.

In India, I see a bright future for 9800GT. As I wrote in other thread, it's gonna eat sales of 9600GT and may be of 4850 too because it runs cooler and Nvidia has better name here.

But that's it!

A rebadged 8800gt which performs better than the latter. The pricing is where Nvidia has to be careful, if its a decent $15-$25 cheaper than the 4850, this card becomes very attractive for people who would have been buying a 8600gts-8800gt, even for people spending cash for a 4850 at lower resolutions might wanna think over. But its a tweaktown's review, I would wait for AT or Guru 3d to finally base my opinions on.

From that review, we can guess, 9800GT would be able to outperform 9800GTX.. Is it possible? Simple re-branding & high clocks won't do such miracle. I will better wait for AT, Guru for more reliable review..

^^^very true, its simply doesnt sound possible, that 9800GT will be outperforming 4850 and 9800GTX so easily and at such a price point....
