Then Buy the Dell XPS Gen 2 Laptop.

That's even heavier than the ferrari, dude.
Toshiba has quite a good lineup in thier Portégé series, they're extremely light and slim and got excellent battery life, which in IMO is must for a laptop.Some models(like the R100 with 12.1 inch screen) weigh as less as just only 1 kg.
The only downside is you won't be able to play any games on it, 'cause of absence of good gfx in them

i recently purchased a laptop Toshiba m40 - p545
i really recommened this laptop .. i have had no problems with it other than the slight nigle in the left speaker... the 15.4 wide csv screen is really gorgeous to look at ... currently it is priced under 80,000 and currently is the best laptop other than the qosmio series that money can buy

And HP has horrible laptops in the States. But almost all models of Compaq here in India are good and last long. The ones in the States have the max DoA !!! Reason is almost 90% of the lappy's are made in China where QC is at its worst. Imagine buying a $2400 lappy which ends up being DoA !!!

I guess this is why I read bad user reviews of Hp/Compaq lappies.

I have nothing personal against any of the companies. I just voiced my opinion
