387 runs is the highest ever target, successfully achieved in the 4th innings of a test match, in the Indian sub-continent. That is the record and that's why this victory of ours is historic.

lets not forget gambhir. sehwag, sachin and yuvraj played outstandingly but gambhir played a crucial knock too.

and those who question why sachin's stats didnt reflect on India's success in 90s, the answer is simple. We were 1 man army in 90s. Sachin was the lone player capable of winning matches. Unlike other greats in past and present, Sachin never had a good support in the team like Ponting, Waugh brothers had. And ever since the Ganguly and Dravid and Laxman came into their own in late 1990s and early 2000s, our test record is good. And then Sehwag came and since then our record has been great.

Sachin was always a great player, but 1 player cannot always win you matches. We always had 1 great player in our team since 70s, but now we have a couple of great players and bunch of good players in the team and thats when team starts to win consistently. And that is whats happening now.

The most interesting thing I noticed here is that in past 1.5 years I have seen 1 statement made too many times here at TE. "1 good performance means OMGZITCH LOL NOTHING NANA GA GA BIOOOO XXXXXXXX"

When that is said too many times, that means we have had multiple good knocks and wins and these statements themselves tell you how good we have been for a while now.

Reflect on that :P

^^ amen to that!!

Yes, a majority of the victories for India have come at home but lets not forget that Australia is No.1 and England came to India after beating South Africa. England won in England and India is winning and India.

Oh and might I add for those who have forgotten, India won the ODI series in Australia too!

Yes India is winning more than loosing but its not like they are drubbing Bangladesh or Kenya but Australia and England and hopefully Pakistan as well.
