Seems to be a notch better than the Xigmatek S1283 and the OCZ Vendetta 2;
There's no need to dance around the thermal test results, Sunbeamtech's Core-Contact Freezer heatsink is an excellent Intel or AMD cooler. It's very suitable for overclocked processors putting out as much as 150W heat, and the easy installation bracket makes switching out CPUs quick and easy. The only downside is that the 120mm fan it ships with is a little on the loud side at full speed (51.3 dBA according to our real-world measurements), but that's pretty easy to deal with. Recommended.

Turns out to be one of the best VFM heatsinks with the newer HDT tech, money can buy; :)

The Frostytech review is the most reliable... They'been using the same methodology for all the heatsinks and they specialize in heatsink reviews ....kinda like johnny guru for psu

and they rate it above TRUE..

is it available in India?

They even rate TRU above TRUE and way above TuniQ and the Ultra-90 is as good or maybe a lil better than the TuniQ tower120 as per them. :no:

The CCF looks very promising but not on the basis of Frostytech's review. :)

Maybe all the frost has left them with a numb mind. :rofl:

I agree the bundled fan is silent, but who'd pay such a price??? :(

Its among one of the most expensive coolers;

This should typically fetch around 2600 bucks;

If you hold that in your hand and have paid 2.6K for a TRUE, you will gladly pay more for that cooler- that good build quality/fit/finish of the Noctua. :cool2:
Simlar to how XP-90 pwned coolers of its time. :P
Flaking coolers have even killed gfx cards and pose potential threat to other components- something that Eazy sir has reiterated umpteen number of times, along with pics.
TR has been taking all their customers on a ride as far as it comes to build quality on their coolers in the past couple of years. :no:
Older TR coolers don't flake till date.
Flaking fins, bad base, bad mount is totally unacceptable from any manufacturer for that matter.
People have paid 4K or more getting their TuniQs and TRUs shipped from Sidewinders and else when they were notavailable here. :)
I can surely compromise 5-10% on top performance for 30-40% better quality for 24x7 use and won't even feel a hit when it comes to 24x7 OCed speeds. :)

the Thermalrights have not flaked anywhere near what my Zalman 7000cu did, the Zalman was dropping minute copper particles inside my case, I think the heat sink had a bad case of dandruff (should I have used Head & Shoulders to clean it ? :P ) - there were hundreds of copper particles everywhere - that is what killed my 6600GT card :(

Xigmatek HDT S1284- the latest from them and the 4 pipe version of the S1283 that got quite close to beating a TRUE. :)

@ Eazy sir- Ya- we must have discussed this here a zillion times. :(
The BFG 6600GT with dual BIOS and a buzzer with the oem Zalman cooler. :(
But the Zalman was pure copper- the TR have nickel plating to avoid the same and the nickel plating flakes off the Al fins. :(
Even the bases on new TR heatsinks get scratched pretty fast. :no:
 
same with me.. the only enemy the thermalright ultra has is the fan thats mounted on it .. the side where the fan was mounted has been corroded and looks like it has been affected by leukoderma.. :P ..well on the other side of the TRU-120A its as good as new..

People have reported nil or very less corrosion with the fan in pull. :)

No drop in performance and some have even found it to give lower temps than with the same fan in push.

(also must depend on type of case and case ventilation to some extent.)

Sadly, my TRU heat sink's fan was setup in PULL mode and the fins still look quite corroded :(

Who cares as long as u can fit a TR LGA 775 backplate mounting kit?? ;)

I guess I'm going to buy one of these; :)
 
yup.. though not by too much i would say..

difference of a few degree c.. visible more prominently wht a high oc.
 
^^yeah you see the real difference between all the coolers when you OC really high

and btw, for bikey ...
the TRUE is lower in frostytech's review because they changed their standard fan...as they have mentioned in its review :)

for most others, they use the supplied fan so it doesnt matter
