Hey guys!

just had a near death experience with our pendrive failling on us!
u see we use it for office and we were lucky! that we take weekly backups!

so now i am pendriveless:S please suggest a 4gb which is RELIABLE!!
at no cost i can afford it to fail!! (i understand that no one can gurantee that but still looking for the best out there)

also its used by many of us, so should be abuse tolerant too :ohyeah:

(i dint find similar post, incase there is , pls direct me,......also sorry if this is the wrong section.....still learning u see:bleh:)
 
sandisk!!! dont go for corsair flash voyager 4gb i have one its rubbish apart from its excellent build quality there is nothing good about it---terrible read and write speeds,

i am not that much into read/write speeds, as u see its just office work.....

what other features u are reffering to?

(just saw the corsair online now.....damm nice built man......all rubber i guess.....could handle dorppings easily! )
 
yeah corsair has a rubber casing... but easily breaks at the tip.. as its rubber.. my friend's had to be replaced three times and now its gone...

just saw the sandisk extreme contour 4GB.....and seems to be around 2K!!

okay!! "tip" breaking=scary!!!
so corsair is out.....sandisk looking expensive......checking out HP

is there a model/series name for the HP that you are suggesting?
 
HP v155... its small.. comes inside a protective rubber dongle and is pretty safe when inside it...

but i guess for office use sandisk is better...
 
the hp v155 will cost you about 750 to 900.. lamington road should be cheap i guess.. around 750-800..

i got mine from bglore.. s.p road.. 720 bucks.. :hap2:
 
It is better that you take the efforts to make sure that everyone uses the pen drive well, whichever one you end up buying, it is bound to fail - it can only extend the life of the memory. For best results, reduce the abuse. Flash memory is not THAT reliable. So yeah, backups are a great idea.
 
Got the HP 8GB (v155w) a few days back.

It is fast. Reached 11 MB/s while transferring a single 3GB file. The Corsair 8 GB didnt even go above 7 MB/s.

The only thing is, it is very very tiny. The USB connecting pins are open. It has to be kept in its holder to avoid damage to the USB pins.

For rough and tough use, I'd suggest the Corsair/Kingston.

dude i have been using transcend all my life v30 series - the last one 8 Gb was around 900 bucks some months back. I regularly get 8-9 MBps which is decent. For the value it offers go for it. And it can take abuse btw :hap2:
 
Corsair Voyager has the following qualities:

Pros:

Read speed: 25-32MBps = Awesome

10year Corsair guarantee

Water/shock proof

Cons:

Write speed: 2-6MBps = Very Pathetic

Big size
 
Corsair's the king. Best build, quality, speeds(second to buffallo in similar price range) and best Warranty(10yrs) service. You wont get better reliability than this from any other brand in India. I lost cap of 2 PD's and they mailed it to my address.

You can buy anything from Corsair and rest peacefully for the next 5yrs at least.

To get better speeds use Panasonic SD-formatter it increased my 16gb's write speeds from 7mbps to ~11mbps. Read speeds are 21mbps at least.
