hmm neo he..
i feel like there is a clash between the neo he users and the skyhawk.. glad i am on a iball 350 watts right now :D
There is no clash there M8.
NeoHe 500 somehow tends to undervolt a bit( still within specifications) when used with more powerful GFX cards and overclocked systems.
The new revision solved the earlier problem of compatability. NeoHe550 seems to have more stable volts than 500. But that costs a bomb.
NeoHe is not bad PSU, still these people call it crap at XS and DFI street :p
These places are kinda enermax and ocz fanclub.

^^Yeah... you may be right... but then they have had some problem with it and thats what makes them say things about it. I have read a lot about Enermax being $hitty when 9800Pros were released. Its Performance over Brands, this is what they(eventually we all) follow... and if you or some1 feels something is good, then there you have it :)

Couldn't find any mercury there... was it?? should've been :p

Ofcourse, it is there on the list. Their PSU's are made Deer. Got this information myself. Had a mercury PSU (bought locally) and traced an address on it.

Raghu.

Its a really stupid thing to Rate PSU's by Brand name.

Each product is different.

Unless, they are comparing the Highest end product of all. Its a different thing.

Mods, I couldn't find the existing PSU Quality thread. So please merge

Thread found , thread merged. Double posts/links, edited :)

For some really GOOD reviews on PSU's.. check out Jonny Guru's personal web-site:

http://jonnyguru.com/psu6.html

Only a few reviews.

What I like is that his method of load-testing is similar to SPCR's methodology of loading up with electronic resisitive banks. This often provides much more accurate results than the old traditional - high-end rig , load 3Dmark/Prime95 , measure voltage rails with DMM routine.

Hmmm, i remember reading in Gf's Neo HE 500 review that the power was rated at 500W @ 50C. So it seems that its delivering more power than its actually rated for :hap2: Is this true for all antec PSU's? Btw what is the relation between temperature and power output?

If you check the Jonny Guru site above, he mentions an interesting method to find the OEM's of PSU's - by looking at the UL number printed on the label of a PSU and referencing the UL Database (http://database.ul.com/cgi-bin/XYV/template/LISEXT/1FRAME/index.htm)

Using the same method, he found that Seasonic are the OEM's for the Antec NeoHE, which seems accurate.. Seasonic are one of the very few PSU manufacturers that actually rate their PSU's at 50C (Most others rate at 25C). And yes, at temps lower than 50C it would be capable of delivering more power than it is actually rated at. I believe the amount of power lost for every degree C is 2~4W (not sure about this).

Well Mercury isn't sold abroad, and even if it is available you will see it under the name of "Kobian".

I posted this list knowing that many members would run to defend their PSU's :p
Well I have 2 antec's...:p And one maybe axed for an enermax 660W I've been trying to get my pawz on..:eek:hyeah:
