You can't really blame them, people were completely fed up with the situation and were desperately looking for change. Along comes Kejru who tells people exactly what they wanted to hear, it's only after they come to power that people realize it was nothing but hot air and that he's no different.
It's the same reason why Donald Trump has so much support, he keeps saying he'll make the nation and armed forces great once again, keep immigrants out and create jobs while also taking advantage of the anti-muslim sentiment that has been simmering in the background since 9/11. Who would'nt want job creation and their country to be great but just like Kejru he's just telling people exactly what they want to hear, you should see how Trump squirms when he's asked in interviews how he intends to achieve any of that, it's clearly apparent he doesn't have any solutions or even a thinking process.
Actually when I think about it they have indeed brought it upon themselves. The writing was indeed on the wall with all the drama, dharnas, falling for free water + cheaper electricity promises that'd empty state coffers and whatnot. It really is mind-boggling how such an incompetent statesman can get re-elected with such overwhelming majority even after the AK49 debacle, either the people of Delhi are really that stupid or the elections were rigged.
